Anyone else a bit fed up of football?

I lost most of my enthusiasm which is partly down to VAR and the way football is geared up for certain clubs. The overinflated transfer fee, driven by and the greedy agents and clubs isn't helping either

I felt like this end of last season and this season seems like it came round straight away, Chuck in Covid and not going to games and empty stadiums it didn’t feel right , hammers had couple defeats at start of season and I just felt deflated ....
However we then go and stuff Wolves 4-0 and Leicester 3-0 and I’m back buzzing again, checking out who we’re linked with signings etc getting well carried away thinking how well we can do this season and can’t wait to go again.
It’s a funny ol game.
 
Beyond the Citizens, Fantasy Football (FPL) is the only reason I show interest in any other teams fixture's.
 
I'm fed up of watching it on telly.

Without going to games it's just not the same.

I'm used to watching away games on tv etc, but seeing us play, especially at home, in an empty stadium is fucking rubbish.

Unfortunately I'm like a moth to a flame so don't see me ever not tuning in.

I was getting fed up of going tbh, but now I can't wait to get back to a full stadium.
 
Watching England last night using corners as a platform to win penalties just summed todays football up for me.
We now have grossly overpaid players more intent on bending the rules or "laws of the game" (fucking hate that term)
than actually wanting to be great skillful footballers. Players not even at their prime doing adverts being political or generally being PR puppets for their clubs.
Its gone to the dogs.
Give me Millwall away on a Tuesday night with the lads anytime over listening to Martin Tyler polluting my front room with his slants while im trying to watch City

Considering I am supposedly football mad I hardly watch any now except for City and I certainly don't listen to any of the pre match or post match analysis and at half time I'll do something constructive like unload the dishwasher

With all that's going on in the world I've really lost interest in football, I didn't even bother with the England vs Belgium game yesterday and honestly haven't missed going to the game.

I'm 50/50 on renewing my seat and if this "big picture " proposal got the go ahead it would definitely finish me and football altogether. I wouldn't even be an armchair supporter

I've also found that going for a challenging 10 mile walk is far more enjoyable and rewarding than paying £41 to see City vs a team that doesn't even try to play football
 
In terms of the actual football, I can't remember a time I've enjoyed watching us play more (maybe under Keegan), just because of the style of play. But in terms of the wider game, absolutely. The going down as soon as you feel contact in the box is worse than it's ever been. VAR has been a shambles (and players know this, which is why they seem so happy to dive). There's so much politics involved off the pitch. It's a never ending fight to rig the competition in favour of your own team off the pitch rather than win on it. There's ridiculous levels of corruption at all levels of the game. 3 of the big 5 leagues in Europe are finished, with the same winner every year. La Liga isn't far behind and certain clubs are doing their best to make sure the Premier League follows suit. And players themselves are run into the ground nowadays.
 
Not as good as once was with bizarre VAR rules but if wasn't for watching City my mental health would decline hugely...one of few things keeping me sane during this Covid b*llocks.
 
Finding it impossible to show any kind of enthusiasm for football as it is now. I miss going to the matches so much. I've never owned a TV subscription, just not having that garbage.

The way things are going I do wonder what sort of game we will all come back to on the fateful day. I will be back home and away when we are all back together, but right now I couldn't give a shit.

The people's game without people is pointless and ridiculous. And thanks to fellow posters, it's good to know many of you feel similar in many ways.

My missus is totally confused by my attitude, so every cloud and all that.
