Anyone else had this re:parking at Etihad

I don't understand why anyone (disabilities excepted) would want to park in one of the official car parks. If driving to the match, I park a 5 minute walk away, free of charge and we are home within 10 minutes - no hassle, no real congestion.
We drive from Edinburgh and previously have parked out at Ashton and got the metro to the Etihad. We had some very bad experiences so have binned it. Now we use just park. park 5 mins from the etihad for about the same cost. Sorted.

I've used the official car parks once when I've driven down and that was for the legends lounge. Spent an hour having a drink and sit down in the lounge 'letting the traffic clear'. It still took 40 minutes to get out and the congestion around there and Oldham Road was heavy still. Made it a jot of difference to me and I personally wouldn't ever use it again.

Has anyone else had the email survey about how we travel to the stadium? The 'yearly one' according to the email:

Every year, Manchester City has conversations with local transport operators (such as TfGM) regarding how to improve travel options for City fans on matchdays.

It's important that 'The Voice of the Fans' is present at these meetings, so today we'd like some feedback and information from you on your thoughts on travelling to City on matchday.

Why? Because the whole set up is a farce, that's why. They don't give a flying fuck what time people arrive home and why would they? they should have people at the car park looking at realistic options to alleviate the issues, not sending out silly little questionnaires that won't make a blind bit of difference imo. Go check out the Hospitality /corporate/moneymen car parks, nice and small, quicker exits, it's no coincidence .

Yes I had that too - offering (no doubt expensive) 'bespoke, door to door coach options' at the end?

There's no "chaos" (there was with the failed experiment at the start of the season). Sheer volume of traffic plus limited road space does not equal chaos.

You must walk very fast. There's no free parking within five minutes of the Etihad - even the nearest is taken hours before kick off.

We use the car parks at the ground as what ever time we set off we get there 10 mins before kick off.all the unofficial car parks are around £5 with no guarantee of getting a space.
I feel happier knowing I can get a space whatever time we turn up ,parking my car in a proper lined space and hopefully its still there when we get back to it for the extra fiver

I've parked in the official car park for years, and literally me and my lad would sprint from family stand to the car at the final whistle, I'd be fucked by the time I got there, but could then get out of car park and beat the traffic lights - it just irritated me though as it was just an unnecessary stress, but being a lazy **** I just got set in my ways.

Finally ditched it this season, park 10 minutes walk away for free, nice leisurely stroll after the game back to the car, home pretty much same time as I ever was.

We've got a Motorway service station nearby. Now I've always wondered why they're now allowed to charge for parking over two hours. The operating licence is down to the government, so to encourage car sharing they should allow longer parking. (Who needs to park longer than two hours unless it is to car share?) So a coach from Knutsford might work. Not sure how door-to-door could pay - you'd not get a coach down our cul-de-sac!

Improving Metrolink frequency after the game would help. They should be nose to tail going to different destinations on the system.

Hope they do the same thing with Metrolink, I would give it them with both barrels over that useless organisation!

The question about how you get to the match asks about whether you use the tram etc so it probably then links to questions about that. My questions went to which coach I use because that's how I travel. :-) So if you get it give them what for!!
