Anyone on here drive a truck?

Correct me if im wrong, but arn't HGV drivers supposed to stay on the inside lane at all times?

They are actually allowed to overtake. They are only forbidden from the third lane.

My problem isnt the fact that they overtake, and i dont accept that its good lane discipline. Im talking about on two lane dual carriageway, so your hogging both lanes. If there was a decent difference in the speed of the two trucks, then I can understand them overtaking and dont have a problem with that. Its when one of them is going 0.00000000001mph faster, no exaggeration, on a two lane stretch of road, and then decide to overtake. The truck on the inside lane doesnt let off the gas to slow down, so it must have taken the overtaking truck 2 or 3 miles to complete the manouvre.

That creates traffic, which can cause accidents. Motorways fine, but they shouldnt overtake on dual carriageways.

lol, should they pull over on the side of the road when they see a car behind them and let them pass too ?

Fail to see what relevance that has?

Big problem with trucks overtaking on motorways isn't actually the trucks doing it....it's the middle lane numpty who then pulls out into the outside lane, but continues at the speed they were doing in the middle lane. THAT causes rapid braking and tailbacks all the time.
If you pull into a faster lane...SPEED UP TO MATCH THE FLOW. It ain't hard is it?

As I am here defending my trade (or pissing in the wind) it amazes me how many people dont know how to join a motorway/dual carriageway from a slip road, scary scary shit.

Here's one, I'd say 99% of drivers don't know the correct procedure for joining a motorway from a slip-road and that's NO exaggeration. If you think that's wrong, answer me this truthfully, do you indicate to make your entry onto the motorway? If you do, then you are wrong. Check the highway code. It's not necessary to indicate because, let's face it, you're on the slip road, where the fuck else would you possibly be going? 99% of vehicles, (including HGV's) indicate unnecessarily when making this manoevre.
Fact. <---- adds emphasis to the statement!

It was a sarcastic response to your selfish view that trucks should not be allowed to overtake on duel carriageways, in case they delay you for a minute or two.
