Excellent advice Tee, gbatemp is definitely the place to go for modding the Wii U. I haven't hacked the Wii u side yet but I have recently hacked the virtual Wii (vWii) side of mine so it plays GameCube and Wii games from a hard drive and runs emulators for the older consoles. Not an expert but i know groups release wiiu stuff. This seems to be a solid tutorial on modding your wiiu https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.396828/
Do not update your wiiu past 5.5.1
yeah mate ive had it open and it looks simple to change but i shit it in case it fucks up!Is it the hard drive or the optical drive?
I'd bet it's just a single board computer with a good graphics capability once you open it up. It will be pretty modular and you can probalby just swap the drive for a new one. There are some vids on Youtube.
there is a guide onthere for wii u but it looks well deep!!!!Excellent advice Tee, gbatemp is definitely the place to go for modding the Wii U. If you're talking about hacking the virtual Wii side of the Wii u to play GameCube and Wii games from an external hard drive it's a piece of piss - just follow that guide step by step. I've got over 5 hundred games on mine and they run the same as a retail disc does. I've also added emulators for the other Nintendo consoles. To be honest the Wii u had not been switched on for ages prior to being hacked, so its breathed new life into a disappointing console. I'm going to go down the loadiine route for the Wii U side but I haven't had time yet. I'll probably have a stab when I finish work for xmas.there is a guide onthere for wii u but it looks well deep!!!!
