apart from...

Surely it has to be a player that was at their peak when they playing for City?

Macca and Fowler were both well past it by the time they wound up here.

From misty memories of when I used to stand on the Kippax as a child, I used to idolise David White (to the point of having haircut like him). Probably wouldn't get anywhere near the current standard in the squad (but not many would) but to an impressionable 8 year old he was amazing

fowler was brilliant, this is a hard one really,i keep changing my mind, but we have a lot of strikers an we are talking about fitting into this squad/ team..
your entitled to your opinion, but mine is that fowler and Mcmahon were both good players for other clubs but were poor for city.
you could have had..
barnes
owen
c wilson
watson
doyle
booth
lake

It's a totally different game now to the 60's and 70's, even the 80's. In bygone days pace was an asset, now it's an essential.

Dave Watson in his prime probably would fit into the squad, because he could read a game.

Paul Lake would certainly be in the squad as he potentially had it all. Two footed, pace and could play in a number of positions. If you ask ten people what they think Lake's best position was I bet you'd get at least four different answers from them.

Kinkladze could fit into our team in a free role behind the front man

A player from our time at COMS I think would suit us is a fit Claudio Reyna. IMO his game is or was very similar to how Barry plays

berti and sugrue .. yep now the thread has gone,, interesting while it lasted .. thanks guys anyway,i was enjoying that hehehe
