They hiked up the prices of the old ones because you can jailbreak it. It's simple enough to do if you can get hold of one. The "free" movies are usually by the XBMC app which you can install once its jailbroken. You can also get some decent streams for the games on there as well.

I've got a windows laptop too , so how would I do that?

What's the best way ? Simple terms please ;-)

Type in YouTube xbmc on a windows pc then type in how to add plugins to xbmc on a windows pc

I was bought a 3rd Gen for a Christmas gift , I've worked out how to download the films (dodgy site) straight to the Apple TV now and it's easy to do for films.

Never thought if the jail breaking and us it worth doing as I've worked out how to get the brand new films already?

Apple TV 3rd gen can't be jailbroken so how are you getting films straight to the Apple TV? unless you download the films convert them and stick them in your iTunes on your pc

Tbh I don't have much trouble with the Footie on it and the films are a+. I think it depends on your connection etc to how much success you have with it . The buffering is too small on it though and I don't let anyone else stream stuff while I'm watching.
