Can someone clarify as I think I'm being a bit stupid:

Does it cost you to apply for the tickets? The wording on the website is vague to say the least.

After registering my details it says:

An administrative fee is charged per application (this to cover printing, postage and credit card clearance costs):

Ticket orders within Europe - 30 EUR

Ticket orders outside Europe - 40 EUR

To Apply for two tickets you must enter the name and date of birth of the second person by clicking "Add Another Person"

Do you pay 30 euro just for the privilege of applying or do they add on 30 euro to successful applicants?

They only charge you if you are successful in the ballot.
You won't be charged for just applying.
Cheers, I thought that would be case - you just can't be too sure with the bent b*stards involved at UEFA can you?

A quick tip: Mastercard are an official UEFA partner, so I'd use one of their cards if you have both. Eight people I know from here applied for the Istanbul ballot; 3 Mastercards and 1 Visa won tickets, while 3 Visa cards and only 1 Mastercard were unsuccessful. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I wouldn't put it past them.

Does anybody know if your name goes on the ticket? I just looked at applying for two and it asked for the details of the second person. Obviously if we didnt get there i would want to pass the tickets on.

The international ticket sales phase for the 2011 UEFA Europa League final at the Dublin Arena on Wednesday 18 May has begun for international football fans.

The UEFA Europa League final ticket portal opened at 12.00CET today, Monday 21 February, when tickets went on sale to the international public – exclusively via UEFA.com.

Applicants can apply for a maximum of two tickets per person (in the same price category) during a four-week period running from 21 February until Monday 21 March. Each applicant has to complete an online application form, and allocation will be decided by lottery.

Once the sales window is closed, every valid application will enter a ballot, irrespective of time of submission within the application period, to determine which fans are allocated tickets for the Dublin Arena showpiece. Any ticket order that is not in accordance with the ticketing Terms and Conditions will be rejected.

Tickets come in four price categories – Category 1: €135, Cat 2: €105, Cat 3: €80 and Cat 4: €50 – and will be subject to an administrative fee.

Payment is by credit card only (MasterCard or Visa), and applicants will be informed by Thursday 31 March if they have been successful or not in the lottery. Tickets will then be dispatched by registered post no later than 18 April.

Orders can also be put in for wheelchair tickets, with each €50 wheelchair ticket including one free seat for an accompanying person (please check the UEFA Europa League final ticketing section for further information).

For questions regarding ticket applications that are not addressed in our FAQ section, fans can contact the customer service appointed by the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) in relation to the ticketing process for the UEFA Europa League final:

By email: uelfinal2011@fai.ie
By phone: 0844 277 9964 – Great Britain & Northern Ireland; 00 353 818 903001 – international customers (Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 17.00 local time, excluding bank holidays)

All tickets are intended for neutral supporters wishing to attend the final of a competition that, in its second season, is already building impressively on the UEFA Cup's proud legacy.
