Are City a better all round team without Haaland?

Haaland is a proven prolific goal scorer. Like everyone had said the current tactics do not suit his style of play. I just cannot believe players just don’t pass to him. If they were not obeying instructions they wouldn’t be in the team. He’s a very different player to Aguero, who could create chances for himself. We have to play in between the lines for Haaland, which should be our tactic. Play to his feet or head. Tactically, I can see why Pep wanted Kane originally. However, Pep wanted Haaland so we have to ensure we change the way we play. This will probably take time, but once we get it right then he can make the difference on winning the CL.

He’s lost a yard since the WC which is understandable due to the lack of football, but he has to do more off the ball and hold it up better.

Of course as a team we have to adapt to him and I’m sure we will but sometimes he has to use his head and read situations better too, especially away from home by droping off and being an option, slowing the game down sometimes etc.

For me things are breaking down a lot in the final third at minute, communication looks poor and it’s all very rushed and muddled but I habe confidence they’ll get there together in the end just that maybe it’s a bit of an experiment this season which requires patience.

I get what you’re saying and I know he’s deadly if it falls to him in the box but I’d have expected to see a player being touted as one of the best players in the world dribble past a player at least once in half a season
He looks like a donkey when on the ball to me
His goals are basically one touch finishes ( that’s not a criticism) but when on the few occasions he gets it in general play he looks awful

Keep with him this season and hope he gets 40 and let Madrid know we are open to offers
Use the money to get Bellingham and go back to the old system
lol the fuck. yesterday he had a better first touch and one touch passing than KDB and Foden. watch the game before speaking

We were fine early in the season

I still don’t think it’s anything to do with Haaland

It’s not his fault the likes of De Bruyne can’t muster more than 1 good pass in a game these days. Not his fault Foden seems off. Not his fault Bernardo wants to take 8 touches of a ball instead of playing him in. The list goes on.

Individual players need to get their heads out of their areas and start performing and things will click again.

Haaland has electric pace which we are simply not utilising. We need to adapt our style to make use of his talents with a lot more through balls. Pep needs to evolve new and alternative tactics as we appear to be going a little stale with the tried and trusted possession based tactics which without a flying Sane and Sterling lack dynamism. We have great players they can adapt and rise to the challenge.
to get the best out of Haaland we need the winger closer to him. to get the wingers closer to him we need overlapping fullbacks. to have overlapping fullbacks we need better midfielders

To win the champions league first you need to qualify for it.

That’s not a given at the moment.
