Are Football Players Fitter than Tennis Players?

It's different levels of fitness. Footballers cover significantly more km - tennis players are shorter sharper sprints and movements. Tennis matches can also last 4/5 hours plus in the men's.

In terms of pure running capacity, I'd say footballers would be quite a bit fitter there. But theres other factors at play for a tennis player.

Tennis is a lot less taxing on the body, highlighted by the fact that the top 3 mens are well into their 30's.
That is quite unusual.

Just goes to show how ridiculously freakish Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are

And ultimately Djokovic will retire with more titles because he's been the fittest. Murray, Nadal and Federer have been ravaged with injuries, while Djokovic has remained pretty clear apart from his shoulder. Nadal's old Physio says he rates his pain as a 7/10 most days during a season, compared to most players at a 2 or 3, and I've lost count of how many times he's withdrawn from a big game injured.

Is the fastest man in the world right now fitter than the fastest marathon runner in the world?
Is the man who can lift the heaviest weight fitter than the man who can jump the longest or highest?
What describes fitness? Maybe a decathlete?

Or some woman they used to sing about near me when I was growing up.
Allegedly she could, run, jump fight, fuck, wheel a barrow and drive a truck.
or..even ride a motor bike, My girl Salomie.
