Are teams bringing less away fans?

Completely fair enough and something the empty seat virgins don’t understand, there is a novelty value to these things (like our Wembley trips and CL group matches). They aren’t the biggest club in the world and there’s probably a limit to the amount of times you want to see your team get beat 5-0 by Pep’s City.
Not forgetting they only pay £30 I say only with tongue in cheek

I was surprised by the Burnley turnout. Do their clubs have to pay for unsold seats if they can’t sell out? If so maybe they don’t want to take the risk. First time I haven’t seen Burnley sell all three tiers.
Maybe after four successive 5-0 defeats at City, some decided that enough was enough?

I was talking to some Burnley lads in the Angel at lunchtime. They were bemoaning the fact that they had only sold 1500 tickets, and they had returned the top tier straight away. They reckoned the premier league novelty has worn off for many, the style of football is grim and add in the regular 5 0 hammering’s, and there wasn’t much demand. They used to bring far more in League 1.
We’re these the lads you refer to

A passing similarity certainly. But if you know the Angel it is pretty dark, so can’t be sure. To be fair they were good lads with no malice at all towards us, which makes a nice change these days.

Demand for city away is less and it seems home games at city from home and away fans.

The price of everything has gone up, but most people's wages haven't, and it doesn't matter what the GDP is if households have less disposable income and job security, they won't be forking out on luxuries.

Unless city enforce it it isn't. The clubs can take tickets in blocks and as long as they sell 50% of the last block they don't get charged. Most clubs don't enforce this though.

Maybe it’s because fans are feeling the pinch money wise? I know quite a few people who lost their jobs through Covid, including two of my own offspring, although they did get employment elsewhere within a week. So Burnley being a ‘deprived’ area you could understand if football wasn’t their main priority.
Burnley is a manufacturing town dependent on aerospace. Safran made approximately 1/3 of its workforce redundant last year....say 250 + jobs. Those working in supply chain would also be hammered. Football pundits will be oblivious to this and real world economics and industry.

Blackpool sold out their allocation 3000 at forest.
Don't think it is covid or money. Momentum and feel good have a stronger influence on turnout than other factors.
