Not quite sure just where to peg us yet.

Hard to deny United haven't weakened any, and don't look to be finished adding as well. They won by a fair bit so you have to consider them favourites again at this stage if being objective.

Chelsea have all kinds of depth and quality with Mourinho back in charge and an owner with no conscience when it comes to spending.

Think we are a bit better than what should be a beefed up Arsenal and steady as she goes Spurs. Liverpool will be fighting for champions league and nothing more imo.

I think we have the potential to win the league with our additions and the new manager, but I would put us 3rd until proven otherwise.

Apart from them losing one of the best ever managers in the game and replacing him with Moyes. Replacing the man who has won 49 major trophies in his managerial career, the most of any manager in history, with someone who has won zero trophies in 15 years of management.

That's a game changer imo, as is Mourinho returning to Chelsea. Pellegrini imo is also an upgrade on Mancini, but I would still say that I rank your squad as about equal with Chelsea, but I think Mourinho is the best manager in the league. United will finish 3rd at best, unless they sack Moyes early and bring Ferguson back.

Moyes is certainly a downgrade but in all honestly we don't know what the impact will be in terms of points. The fact that Fergie was worth 10-15 points a season is fast becoming folklore but it doesn't necessarily mean it's true. We need to wait till the end of the transfer window and see Moyes in action for a few games before we write United off as title challengers

Most Rags are worried about next season

Why? I'd be quiet confident if I was them as the 20pts they get from bent decisions usually helps.

But how many of those decisions came as a result of Ferguson turning up the heat on the referees, before and after games?

Moyes looks very uncomfortable in his new job. I can't seen him having the credibility to apply the pressure that Ferguson applied.

There's the potential for a meltdown at OT this season. I wouldn't go so far as to actually predict that one will happen, but they've lost arguably the greatest manager ever, and replaced him with an also ran. Chelsea, on the other hand, have employed the best manager in world football today, who already knows the club inside out and has been there, seen it, done it, as far as delivering the Premier League title is concerned. If Chelsea get Rooney, I fear we're going to finish second.

Last couple of seasons, Chelsea have had major periods of their campaign where the wheels have fallen off completely, with the end result that they have been out of the hunt. I just don't see that happening with Mourinho in charge. He will eek every ounce of performance out of his team. I am FAR more concerned about them than I am about United.

When you look at United last season, honestly they were very poor for much, if not most of the time. They managed to grind out wins with what we all have to admint (reluctantly) is an incredible winning, fight to the last, mentality.

As a group of players, they are objectively not good enough to win it, in my view. The big question is whether that "typical United", never say die, character is part of the fabric of the place, or whether Bacon has taken it with him. I think it's the latter. We will soon see.

impossible to forecast the premiership this season , so many variables . Moyes and Pellegrini are unproven at the very top of premiership/European football , but Mourinho has seen it , done it and bought the t-shirt. We have the best squad , Chelsea are also very strong , but yoooniteds squad is vastly overrated , (Spurs and Arsenal can field a better first XI than the rags).
If we get a good start and win the first six games , it will then be a 2 horse race between us and Chelski , Spurs and Arsenal in the champs league places and yooonited in a distant 5th and looking forward to thursday night football.

suggest otherwise
4. We HOPE Moyes turns out to be a disaster at OT
5. We HOPE than in the 5 weeks of the transfer window that remain that United don't land
any major signings of the calibre of Bale, Fabregas or Ronaldo

If all our hopes come true then City will win the title, realistically it is likely to be a 3-way fight and we have a 33% chance of winning. Personally I prefer to keep my feet on the ground!

You don't think Negredo and Jovetic will produce more than Tevez and balo? I don't see it as a hope. More like inevitable. Balo had 1 goal, Tevez 11. If you don't think they will produce more than 12 goals between them, well I don't know what to say. I expect that each will give us 12 goals.

If no one signs anybody else I'd be more than confident that we'll win the league BUT we'll be after a center back, Chelsea will more than likely sign De Rossi and the rags will make at least one big signing. Not Jan Vennegoor of Hessealink(sp?) but I'm really confident. Negredo, Jovetic and Navas were bargains. We may have overpaid on Fernandinho but from what I've heard on here he is class.

At the minute, we definately look to have made the most progress in terms of transfers.
However, its a bit early to say whats going to happen because clearly Chelsea and Utd havent finished their spending.
It would be a surprise if we didnt finish in the first three again but what position in that its too early to tell.

I don't think it's optomistic to believe a striker will give us 10 goals a season. That's their job. Again we lost 1 goal from Balo. Hardly cause for dismay.
