Big name players want CL footy, they wont get that at city this season...
Wait 'till we're qualified, then big names will come with the promise of CL footy.
Vieira wanted int. footy which is why he signed for us, more chance of playing.
Would cost us more buying big names in this window as their clubs make money from The CL, they aren't doing anything without their best players.
Torres is a prospect for this reason, unless he wants the eufa cup medal

At times I wonder about some posters on this site!
Almost EVERYONE with an interest in Football knows that there are very few big transfers during the january window with the only players normally moving those whose clubs are under severe financial dificulties (like Pompey), those that are a troublesome influence in the dressing room at the club they are with, or those that have had new managers who dont rate them.
There is absolutely no point in buying players at inflated prices just because there is a transfer window open.

We dont need many players maybe a centre half and a left back but beyond that i fail to see the point of buying anybody else - we have almost a full team out at the mo these players when they come back will be wanting to play - also the quality of players out there are no different to what we have now. The CL players all want to stay at their respective clubs
