The two main parties are not connected to most people. They are part of a clique embedded in the Westminster bubble and the media are part of the bubble. They are mostly career politicians who don't give a shit about people outside the bubble.

Whether by design or accident our democracy' keeps the masses in line by giving the illusion of representation whilst the toffs run the country for their own benefit.

The monarchy, the house of lords, the honours system and by extension the old school tie network all need to go.

Absolutely agree with this. The UK needs to modernise, get rid of "born into" privilege, Lords, Earl's, Duke's, the old school tie snob system of jobs for the boys, it's not what you know but who etc.
One simply has to show one's face at the Grouse shoot or the Fox hunt.
Britain can never be a true Democracy while the head of state is Royalty, unelected with ludicrous wealth and influence.

The UK is in danger, look at the £ to US$ over the last 10 years.



A steady decline....Where will this go, how far will the £ plummet ? ...Maybe parity or below.
Even against the Aussie $ it's down 35% over a 15 year period.

Things need to change. The old days of bowing and scraping to your "betters" in the UK should be dead and buried. The class system is broken, it needs to be scrapped. The top jobs for old Etonians needs to be changed.
The Brexit vote should of course never have happened, only idiots would put such a momentous decision into the hands of unqualified British "subjects".

The value of the pound is an indicator of the decline in the British economy which is being mismanaged by a bunch of Eton toffs.

And no. We are not a democracy. PR would help but would be unlikely to resolve the English domination of Westminster which has caused nationalism in Scotland and Wales to gain significant traction.

We are a democracy without doubt, but only when the electorate is traipsing to the polling stations. In the intervening period the electorate can just fuck right off whilst the elected government get on with sorting out a few perks for their mates.
