Since the takeover and all the transfer madness that has happened over the years, the forum has been rife with people - myself included - who thought they knew the best people to sign. That's fine, that's the nature of forums, sharing ideas and opinions etc.

Last summer and the summer before particularly though we've been a fairly good shout to win the league. Those transfer windows were the craziest because seemingly we just needed that final push to get us that trophy. There was plenty of flapping over signings etc.

Now we've won the league, I feel so much calmer about the transfer windows. Winning the league was proof we have a league winning squad as it stands, and that we are only going to get better. It was proof that our management team have what it takes to bring the league title of the best domestic league in the world to Manchester. For that, I now feel totally relaxed about the transfer window. If we were signing RvP a couple of years ago, (age/other circumstances being the same as they are today) I'd have more to say about it, and maybe lobby this forum for another target. However now, I feel very relaxed.

I can only assume it's because I now more than ever, I feel totally confident in the management/players of the club. I was always 99.999999%, but now we've done it, I'm 100%.

Does anyone else feel like this?

I'm calm in connection to players in, we don't need much but I really, really don't want Tevez to be here next season.

theres a few things bugging me, the main one being how we seem rather unable to shift our deadwood. we will have such a colossal wage bill this year that it might well drag us down FPR wise. need to improve on that pronto.

also i'd prefer us to win the league by atleast 3 points this time around, so bringing some (read: one or two, more if transfers out happen, such as Dzeko / Kolarov / AJ / De Jong) people in is a must I think. im not one of those transfer junkies but personaly I think we NEED proper CB cover and a quick, tricky winger (think AJ, just actually good enough to get in the team). would be nice to wrap these over before we head to china atleast.

other than that, yep.

I may be wrong but I am sure I read somewhere on here that the wages of Tevez, Bridge and Adabayor are not included in the FPR because they signed before the rules came into place.

As I said I may be wrong.

You are not wrong. There are ways for their wages to kick in, though. I can't recall them off the top of my head.

I've pretty much always been calm with regards Roberto Mancini and his staff, what they are about and what they want, RM plays this 'Peter Sellars/Inspector Clouseau' role brilliantly for me, you only have to listen to players and people he's worked with previously to realise there is a hell of a lot more to this man than some 'bumbling Italian' stereotype, deep down there is a steely determination and someone who knows exactly what it takes to win major honours, then we also have Khaldoon, just oozes class for me and I can see exactly why Shiekh Mansour holds him in such high regard, me, I'm fuckin lovin it.

On one hand, I'm more confident than ever; Tevez is back, we're reigning champions and we have the strongest squad in the league.

However, on the other hand, United won't have an injury crisis like last year and Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal are all restructuring.

If we sort out a centre back, a playmaker and possibly a right back or left back as cover, as well as two speedy options, we'll walk it. This is all achievable for a relatively small amount of money.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, eh?

We can sign write off the wages of players who signed before 1st June (or July, can't remember) 2010 but ONLY if we show a positive trend in general - i.e. lose less money than the year before.

I think Tevez signed a new contract at some point, don't know how that affects things with him.

I'm pretty sure that if Tevez had signed a new contract, the assorted world press would have rammed the story so far down our throats that it had come out the other end and they could start ramming it a second time by now.

I hope he is because he is world class and we wont get better. I am Carm because like you say op we have a winning team. Aj can make it he is fast skillful and can score goals but he should get stuck in help your team and still score. We will get a winger and cb and maybe rvp but i dont see the point

Both Mancini and Khaldoon have to be contenders for coolest man walking the Earth.

given that we have Silva and Nasri I cannot see a playmaker as a desperate need myself

I am calm as if we didn't add it wouldn't make much odds although with the teams around us strengthening i would suspect we wouldn't win the league again (saying that i trust Mancini so my view point is pretty much mute)
The only thing is though ITS REALLY REALLY BORING

Sure it does.

I mean why would I want a man who walked off for half of the season to leave, I should just welcome him home and pat him on the back for a job well done..

Perhaps because everyone else has moved on and he helped us to the title, I honestly don't think we would have won it without his input.

As I said it's old news, move on ffs
