Quite possibly, they are certainly one of the favourites. We'll see how Spain bounce back, plus there is always one surprise package and you can never rule out Germany.

southern hemisphere team.......southern hemisphere country

as above will back the germans too

Southern hemisphere climate which will be winter in June 2010.

He does have a point re Elano.

I mean if there were a guy who played 30 games for England and he was on the City bench we would find it a bit strange.

re our too superstars I am not going on the evidence of one match. But I do think while Tevez is a very good player he is not in the same bracket as Robinho. Mark Hughes obviously disagrees. Sadly.

elano has undoubted quality but he is clearly a bad influence in the dressing room. he only plays well when it suits him. if he really was that good week in week out he wouldnt be playing in turkey. ireland who plays his heart out for the club and is a huge fans favourite beats elano hands down any day of the week.

Trouble is, it will not be England!! I kinda hope that one of the African teams come to the fore but maybe still too early for them.

To be honest Elano only took the one free kick and the tackle on Tevez but was not that much of a influence on the game. Gilberto, the back five and Kaka were the diffence this morning.

Naah, Elano held up the ball really well and looked great IMO. Took the free kicks that resulted in 1-0 AND 2-0.

He wouldn't really play for MH though so in the end I suppose MH didn't have much choice.

I've read some of the match summary on here and having watched the game, myself, Brasil never played football. They countered an unlucky Argentinian team(notwithstanding the CB pairing!). Nothing they did came off.

The midfielder Jesús Dátolo had a p*ss poor game until that strike. He'd have been the one player I'd have taken off and moved Tévez in field as a makeshift replacement. Juan Sebastián Verón had the best game for the national team I'd seen him play in a LONG time. Yes, he gave the ball away in spells, but his movement and willingness to dictate the play gave Brasil problems all game.

What Maradona needs to do is re-call Cambiasso into the midfield, sort out his differences with Riquelme and bring Zabaleta in on the right def to give them overlapping width.

The key is Riquelme. If he can gel with Verón in the centre(Verón playing DM, possibly, otherwise Cambiasso), they'll cruise.

Silly pride before a fall, Maradona.
