BBC ignoring closing ceremony. ITV coverage. Shame we have not had any coverage of Qatar everyday life instead of virtue signaling individuals.
Would like to know how things have/haven't changed in Qatar since I lived and worked there 17 years ago.

Let's be honest, any pundit banging on about human rights in Qatar whilst trousering a fortune for their punditry of a World Cup in Qatar isn't worth listening to. Just like players who've done it, they all could have said no and refused to take part if they felt that strongly about it

I suppose it was inevitable they’d end on a downer with tournament coverage, the way it started, back to the human rights issues and putting a downer on Qatar and reiterating how stained this World Cup is.

No mention of how well the tournament has ran logistically or how welcoming and friendly the locals and the culture has been, but there you go.

I'm sure they said at the beginning of the coverage today that the closing ceremony was on the iplayer and the red button. I find them pretty twee, to be honest.

Absolutely, been in Qatar 6 years now and have to say I had my doubts but it’s been a festival.

Keane played for Ireland while gay relationships were illegal in the country (debut 1991 - decriminalisation 1993 - Gay Marriage 2015)
