Aris Fans!

Probably a stupid question, but I'm comfortable with my dumbness. Is Thessaloniki the same place as Saloniki. One of my best mates (big Greek Louis) is from there but he leaves off the first "Thes" bit. You lads probably know him, Theodoridis, and he's huge. ; )

yes you're talking about the same city. It' just a shortened version of the name.
Thessaloniki was stepsister of Alexander the Great (both were kids of Philip the 2nd)
and wife of Cassander, the man who founded the city and named it after her.

Cheers mate, and you'll be happy to know, he quit drinking, so he is starting to get in much better shape.
