Arise Sir Sol Campbell (P14)

One game to go and Macc are one point from safety.
Should be tasty next weekend. Macc at home to Cambridge who are three points ahead and on the same goal difference.
However, a draw will be enough as Notts County are two points behind with a minus eight goal difference compared to Macc and Notts are away at Swindon. Be a shame to see Notts County go down but that's the way it is.
Good away win at nearby Port Vale today for Macc, a friend told me it was kicking off on the train on the way back as Stockport were returning from Nuneaton.
Life at the top, eh?
Meanwhile, in the North Cheshire potato growers league, rival fans of Prestbury and Mobberly fought a pitched battle over a bitterly contested match in the Triple Cooked Chip cup. Both of them sustained injuries. A police spokesman said: "zzzzzzzzzz".

You might be having a laugh and apologies if I've missed the humour but your post reeks of the small minded big time Charlie shit we've had to put up with for years. Clubs like Macclesfield ae no less important to their fans than City are to us and it doesn't matter how far down the pyramid you go, this stuff means something.

Well done to Macc and to Sol Campbell for giving themselves a chance. Seems inevitable that if not this year then sometime soon they will be back out of the league but for now hope their core support are enjoying the ride. I've lived in Macc for 30 years but don't have that emotional attachment to the club, always been City for me, but think I'll lend them my support next saturday seeing as sky have given me a free afternoon on what will hopefully be a great occasion for them.

Rather a raggy type attitude, maybe you should go and take a look at some lower level football. An awful lot of good people involved and playing....even City fans.

I'll be going next Saturday too. My daughter lives in Macc now and we have been twice this season. Once before Sol took over (against Yeovil) - the standard was a pleasant surprise with both teams trying to play football. The second time was a few weeks ago (against Stevenage) and the football was Sunday league standard (and that's being polite). Macc were literally just hoof and hope. Don't know whether that's the way they play under Sol or whether niceties have gone out of the window in the run-in but it was a hard watch. Snatched a draw in injury time so maybe the end justifies the means.

Well done to Macc - will be some folk sad to see Notts County go down but always good to see local sides staying up (teams based in Moston excepted)
Congrts to Sol, let's see what he can do over the summer and start afresh in August.
Said on the bit of Soccer Saturday I caught yesterday that when County scored the Macc fans started chucking stuff at the Cambridge keeper. Seems they remain as classy as they were when we played them.

Soz, Bigtime.

Well done Macclesfield, my Dad and uncle both played for them in the 60's so I was glad to see them stay up, Sol Campbell seems to have done well there.
