Arsenal (A) | Community Shield | Post-match Thread

Meh. Bit concerned by a couple of things: Why were so many convinced we'd lose on pens? We've lost two in 15 years IIRC before today. Also why were the 8 minutes added for Arsenal to equalise? Why couldn't we have increased our lead in that time?
We were the better team and will almost certainly finish above the bloody Tarquins.

And they’re only there because they come 2nd, didn’t even win anything. The other 19 teams should’ve been drawn out of a hat. What’s the difference in finishing 2nd and 13th? They’ve both won fuck all.
Should have been West Ham, at least they won something last season.

We should have been automatically awarded the game because we won the domestic double!

With boycott going on, bad atmosphere at our end, some fans tried their best to sing, but not enough. There wasn't any chants or singing when the players got on the coach from hotel. Our boys could feel it.
City fans back in action, like Pep always said, 'Be there.'

Yawn. Community shield. Yawn.
Yawn. Charity shield. Yawn.

Are we done?

Shall we start to give a damn when the season starts? Thank you.
Sanity at last.

Celebrate like you’ve won the Champions league Mikel and co. You‘ve just shown yourselves out to be what you are…….. bottlers.

Pep has recorded your celebrations and will laugh at it with the squad in May. He who laughs last……..

Fucking right I am, I hate it when we get beat
Very few on here are happy when we lose (though, watching the match threads, I do wonder at times). There are different levels of "guttedness". I was disappointed that we lost today. I was gutted, though, when we lost that CL final, when we shit the bed in Madrid in the sf season before last, when we lost to Wigan at Wembley, any time we lose to the rags. I'm pretty much over this afternoon at this stage now. That loss to Chelsea in Portugal took a long time to get used to. A LONG time.

100% I'd go as far as saying that draw against everton felt worse!

This match meant nothing to me, zero. It means nothing like any other pre season friendly match. It would've been nice to win 5 nil of course but we haven't reached full fitness yet due to all the travelling to far flung countries for nothing but PR reasons.
I'm sure Pep see's this like any other friendly, lets not get any injuries, improve our fitness levels. Result irrelevant.

It's very annoying they couldn't kick off a lot earlier, hard for our fans, easy for them. Should've been played in the midlands 1 pm KO. I guess they have to continually justify Wembley stadium.
