Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

They’re such a bunch of twats, they won’t win anything this season yet they have the fucking nerve to do that. Actually made me want Liverpool to win the league.
Steady on with that last sentence. But I do know what you mean! It's like a double edged sword, I don't want the Dips to win it - I am really stressing about them breaking our 100, but I loathe Arses too. I just pray Forest could do summat, but no way are Dipperpool imploding now.

Agree with a lot of that. Realistically, for liverpool to win it with less than 100 would be ok. Just.

Well he didn't do him and he never even touched him if I remember correctly so that is why the media haven't said anything. It was an unfortunate incident. Had Havertz had injured him when he went out of his way seconds in then it would have been a different story
He pushed pulled and twisted his knee cap off

My thoughts too and great, great memories, but, maybe - just maybe - last Sunday was our nadir - it's darkest just before the dawn and the best is yet to come.
:-)
i dont think it can get any better than it did in 22/23 although i still think the best team was 2018/19

Just watching arsenal being “ humbled “ by Newcastle at the moment …. Always the bridesmaids

i can handle them winning the league; they have a great team and Salah is a fantastic player who is humble and not a prick. also their manager is a vast improvement on dickhead.

But i am concerned at the possibility of a champions league double or (unbearable) a treble or dont even say the Q word.

they havent dropped a point in europe, are cruising in the league and are a one goal deficit at home to spurs from being up against newcastle in the league cup final. and we arent there to stop them

lost their last game

Really riled me up their over the top reactions. But now it makes me smile. At the end of the season I wonder if they'd swap their win over us for a win tonight....

Loved the person doing the music straight after the game well that was very humbling for arsenal and then put record on so newcastle could sing they was going to Wembley

Absolutely no chance. Carabao isn't a priority - league is and if we are unlikely to win it we still view City as Top 4 rivals so to create a 9 point gap is important.

In their wisdom our board neglected to sign a single player in the transfer window- we already have crap up front, Martinelli has done his hamstring so until Saka comes back sometime in March we are running on fumes. Not inconceivable an injury to Havertz/Trossard etc means we're having Sterling as an out and out striker in which case we'd plummet down the table so we will take the league points happily for now.

We must have a better option for RB than Nunes. Also it is Peps responsibility for the backroom staff and we seem to be happy with the worst set piece coach in football (watch in the next month or so marmoosh will be coached out of his good corners), a medical and conditioning team who cannot keep a player available for selection or up to fitness of any other PL teams and god knows what our defensive coaches do as we are a shower of shit at the back every week.
We were in that awful run of 1 win in 13 well before the window opened and we have spent money on 2 young unproven defenders, and not addressed the midfield issues, that's on the club.
We now have 2 top quality front players yet lack the tactics or personal capable of playing to their strengh and not being capable also of spotting their runs.
Soon we will be out of the CL and then perhaps with 1 game a week we can get that 5th place spot which may give us CL football but there is no fight, desire, energy left in most of our starting 11 and it needs a huge clear out in the summer
Took the words out of my mouth.. where has the quality back room staff gone.. have the best fitness facilities in the league apparently..managed poorly ..it seems. Let alone coaching...really poor this year

My worries encapsulated in your post. They did drop 3 points in Europe last week but it mattered not an iota.

Slot is a vast improvement on Klopp, they play far better footy than us this season, but at the end of the day are still Dipperpool.

I agree re Salah, he's played and dived well with 6 different forward partners over 7 seasons and delivered every time. How did we miss him?

Carabou should have been a priority. Any team's chances are limited to 4 trophies a year. It should have been a priority but perhaps a 2-0 loss at home meant that not overturning the deficit was impossible.... but, they put out a very strong team - it looked the same as against City - so, they were definitely trying their hardest.
Seems that you'll just have to stay a bit humbler than you envisaged.

Carabao never a priority and the match you saw today is like every time we've played recently at SJP - Howe has Arteta's number. If you play Arsenal with big defenders, aggressive midfielders and break at speed to a top class striker then you're in business.

Carabao is a Rags-level trophy. For the outlay and expectations it's the league that should be the target. Won't happen this season though even (trip to Anfield aside) our remaining fixtures aren't the most challenging.

Lol really?

You are so far up your own arse that you are turning your nose up at the League Cup!

"A Rags level trophy" that you've only managed to win TWICE, Last time you lot won it was 1993!

So even this trophy is out of your depth.

There's literally only four trophies to win including champions league amongst so many teams, Yet you have the decine right to chalk one off as if "We are too good for that"...So good yous haven't won it in 32 years.
