Arsenal (A) Post Match Thread

I spend half the year in Spain, arrived back on Tuesday and my local is an Arsenal pub, the landlord is a great guy and always makes sure City is on for me. Last night was the grand opening of his new bar and the place was full of Gooners, me and 2 other proud City fans in the midst of it all. At full time one Arse fan turned around and said this is the lowest he has felt watching his beloved team, me and the others spit our beer out and said try a season in Division 3 then you will know what low feels like!

It's positively hilarious listening to some of the other supporters from so-called big clubs whinge when things are going wrong. Most of them have not got a scooby what it is like to really suffer (in football supporting terms). Arsenal have never been out of the top flight, they won the FA Cup last year; they could still win the Europa League if they pull their fingers out. In general, long-time City fans are just a different breed to other supporters of top clubs. Our current success is karma personified.

I can’t focus today. I tried to call my cousin and his wife from London since yesterday but they’re not picking up .
Left several messages like” hope you guys are ok out there on this treacherous weather 3 below zero . Stay warm and safe “
They abused me last season when they beat us and I didn’t say anything offensive ;)

Didn't get to see the match last night as I was working away. Watching it back today, those are 3 of the best team goals I've ever seen us score and I don't think I've seen us score 3 better goals in one half of football ever before. Simply breath taking, skilful, fast paced, precision attacking football. Words don't do us justice for last night. It was the perfect embodiment of Pep's footballing philosophy.

Well that was a cracking week.
Flew in from Sydney on Saturday for a work meeting in France and didn’t tell the boss I was coming in early to see the lads at Wembley.
Great weekend celebrating and then off to work
Ended the week watching us smash the Tarquins in Ma Malone’s in Nice.

Only downside was that I got so blind celebrating (on Stella with Pernot chasers) that I fell over on the way back to the hotel and split my head open.

A couple of French lads stopped their car, rang an ambulance and waited with me till it turned up. I thought they were overreacting until the paramedic stemmed the bleeding and patched me up leaving me looking like an extra from Platoon.

To top it off the paramedics dropped me back to my hotel.

Memories of Arsenal away in 1989 for me (without the ambulance!!)

... I really need to get out less.

The three goals were indeed things of great beauty
