POW!!! Fuck the Hateful Eight!

We started the game OK & took control as we went a goal up, but what the fuck were we trying to do employing game management at 20 minutes in? :-/

We stepped off the gas & gave Arsenal the opportunity & confidence to come back into the game & take control of the second portion of the first half, & I could see their equaliser coming a mile off.

I've no issues with the penalty. To be honest, it could have gone either way.

We came storming out in the second half & it took a battling Arsenal to stem our advances. It made the game very stop/start & scrappy, but this seemed to suit City & disrupt Arsenal's flow.

Normally it's other teams who turn our games scrappy against us, so it makes a change for us to do it to someone else, but it's good to see we had it in our locker to mix it up & go toe to toe.

There were chances at both ends, but we made ours count in the face of vociferous support from the Gooner fans.

KDB's goal was sublime & I was absolutely made up for Grealish scoring. You could see what it meant to him. It was a brilliant team move & reminiscent of City at our best.

It was a relief to see Haaland score, if just to shut the fuckin commentators up who kept going on about Haaland not being played through & his THREE GAME scoring drought! Again, you could see how much this brilliantly taken goal meant to him, as it also wrapped up the game for us.

It was a decent display & I loved our battling, running & quality finishing when it mattered. We replaced skill with endeavour when required & that's something we've been missing this season.

The trick now is to combine our skill with endeavour over 90 minutes as we've become used to in previous seasons. My MoTM was the whole team. To win away in such a crucial match shows we do have the character to grind out wins when they matter most.

Roll on Leipsig...

Bein sports can go fuck themselves. like listening to Arsenal tv. Well done blues.

Buzzing with that one. There will still be bumps along the way but we’re nearly back to our level and over long periods no one can keep up

Thought we were shocking in the first half but then really, really good in the second. On the other hand, Arsenal were good in the first half (especially their press) but they got a bit too emotional in the second half and played into our hands a bit. Was just like last season's game all over again. Shot themselves in the foot from a really good position.

Particular mentions for Dias, Rodri, and Super Jackie Grealish.
Someone in the matchday thread mentioned that Arsenal are overrated.
I didn’t agree. I feel they are actually ahead of where even they probably expected this season, They play exciting fast precise football, but…. as I replied, they are vulnerable. They have great young players but if you apply pressure on their out ball from defence they each have a mistake in them.
We weren’t pressing at all in the first half but did it at key moments in the second half and it put the jitters into them. This seemed to sow the seeds of doubt throughout their play.
The two second half goals from us were vintage City pressure, pinpoint passing and punishment.

I think this should instill confidence in the team and will put the wind up the rest of the league.
Put out a consistent team out for the rest of the season Pep. They have the experience and know how. Walker Dias Laporte Ake at the back. 4-3-3 and take our chances. It’s there for us to win again even though we’ve not been at our best.

Thank you City! THANK YOU!!! I’ve had a terrible couple of weeks. Firstly my mate got diagnosed with end of life cancer, then all this shit with city, and now my mums in hospital dying. with 20 mins left at 1-1 I just couldn’t take any more stress so I went for a walk. What a pick up to get back to that. Just watched the last 20 mins. WONDERFUL :)))
Sorry to hear about that mate, life can be very cruel, all the best.

More like it , hope Jack's injury is very minor as we need all out players in the run in to make a real fist of 3 on the spin.

Still to hit our best and some chins to iron out but this is the biggest statement we have made so far this season.

City onto the City for another 3 points.
