Arsenal (A) | Post Match Thread

It’s strange to see us so far behind on possession stats - something that I can’t recall happening under Pep - but the stand out stat for me was that the Arse had only one shot on target (and that was from a dubious penalty) while we had six.

3 great goals. Haalands was really opportunistic & sharp. For a big fella he is quick. Kdb lovely technique. Grealish's well struck...he's going to absolutely smash one into the top corner soon...well played City...Full throttle now...Forest will be no pushover....keep calm & carry on.

Above quotes were after the FA Cup match, me replying to an Arsenal fan.

I knew you couldn't underestimate Arteta being scared of us in that match by not wanting his best side to lose to us and then bringing them all on anyway.

They've not won a game since then and been pretty average. I think Villa (A) will be a struggle for them too.
Zero shots in open play tonight
No shot of any description after the 59th minute in the cup game
So apart from a joke penalty, that’s zero shots on target in more than two hours of football

Again, we got a penalty for exactly the same thing in the same game. Referees announced they were clamping down on holding and blocking players from corners but it only lasted for one game. We got a penalty for it and Stoke got one for it. Then it stopped happening.

The video doesnt work but i didn't remember us getting a pen for the same reason so fair play.

That gooner is a bellend.

It was a very, very odd decision to make, the Arsenal players didn't even appeal for it and they appeal for anything they possibly can as a rule.
It would have been an easier decision to not give it, especially as giving it gives rise to the conversation about whether it should have been a second yellow for Ederson.
Not only did the Arsenal players not appeal for a penalty, but the crowd behind the goal didn’t either…and both their players & fans whine for every decision!

Always reminded of this pic when people talk about fouls of holding on corners and free kicks!

Joke…agenda…shit reffing? Who knows, but my goodness!

Exactly, Leicester won the league by doing just that. They took holding in the box to a new unpunished level.
They won plenty of games with it too, Vardy would run straight at a defender and throw himself over once he got in a good position for a freekick. From the inevitable free kick (no referee wanted the press haranguing them about destroying the Leicester fairytale) one of them would grab hold of the defender and the other would climb on a defender getting their head to the ball. The rules they got to play to that season were a joke.
