Arsenal game is the first big test....

This match will show up or give us some signs to where abouts we really are. We have had 3 good wins where we have defended well enough and not let anybody score. This game will be huge in terms of proving we are for real and you can bet Ade and Toure will be up for this one.

HUGE GAME NEXT SATURDAY.

A draw wouldn't be the worse thing in the world either. Just can't afford a loss not at home.

Time warp much?

arsenal have looked good in their first few matches, had me wondering..is there some way they've finally got their shit together, they sure are a good team to watch. watching them crumble at the scumpalace tells me they're still glitter. they'll be very wary going to coms, we'll beat them 1-0..courtesy ade

hope so son

what our boys need to do, and im pretty sure they are, is to scout every possible tactic, configuration and system arsenal will be employing.

our upper hand is we are a team with a new form, and 3 matches will not be enough for them to figure us out.

i dont want us to just win it, but to make a statement of intent. hence, the first big test.

Robinho should start for this game.

I looked on an Arsenal forum earlier and most are confident they'll win, some even suggest theyre likely to score 3 or 4.

Personally I think we can beat them, though I hope Cesc is out

I saw that too. They could be right.. But, I can see us scoring 3 or 4 against them too. Like Arsenal, if our players are given space they can destroy anyone. Bring it on.

I think we can go into this game with full confidence. Arsenal have no doubt had a storming start to the season, (excluding the game against the rags which they probably should have won) and I agree that they will be our first real challenege, but I see no reason why we should be scared of them.

Hughes has assembled a team of men who are somewhat different to our starting 11 last season. Not just in respect to playing ability, but mentality too. Barry, Toure, Lescott Adebayor etc.. are not the type of players that would go out to a game and be happy with anything other than a win. They are fighters, with winning mentalties which is what our squad lacked desperately last season. They'll be up for Arsenal next Saturday, Toure and Ade especially, and I expect to see a tough battle but there is absolutely no reason why we can't come away from this game with a convincing 3 points.

Arsenal and the Scum were shit on Saturday. If both play like that in the next 2 games we have nothing to fear. However I would gladly accept 2 draws at this stage.

The big test was winning away frm home

The next test will be to see how City respond to a setback. Arsenal outplayed Utd, and I expect them to beat us. But if we can win most of our home games, and a good percentage of the away games we will be close to the top 4

Must have been watching a different game to me then as i thought we were ok , outplayed the rags and were unlucky to lose in the end , we were certainly not shit though !!

Agree with this. I think we will have to play much better than we have played so far this season to get anything out of Arsenal. They are moving the ball around for fun, as they always do, and I fear we may end up chasing shadows. Unfortunately, I think we will have to be at our "physical" best if we want to get a grip of things.

Will be interesting to see whether Hughes goes for the same type of line up as he has done so far this season, or we will revert to something closer to what we played last season...Personally I'd like to see us playing with De Jong, Ireland, Barry, as a midfield three, and Adebayor, Robbie, and Tevez as a forward three. I know SWP's done well this season and there would be arguments to say that Tevez or Robbie should be dropped, but I think home to Arsenal - our big big guns will be bang up for it...
