Arsenal (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Missed the game as we’re on a boys golf trip to Spain but I caught MOTD last night.. possibly just the edit but it looked like we were very lucky at the end not to concede.. but hey, they should have been down to 10 anyway so fuck ‘em
You need to sack the Organiser, going on a trip when we play at home! I organise our golf do’s around football to ensure we never miss a game. We did La Cala before the hotel was built and the courses were named North, South and West. Enjoyed it there, remember the 1st tee (I think) on one of the courses was elevated, big drop onto the fairway.

You missed a stupendous game yesterday!

Hope you guys who were at the Etihad managed to survive that, it was a real football match. These two teams are way ahead of the others, but even if we don’t win the league, it will have been fun to keep Arsenal’s fans shitting themselves, including our neighbours.
Mate I absolutely love being part of games like that. Since Aguero, I embrace it all, it’s a privilege.

Other thoughts. Bernie and Rodri were immense in the middle, if they both leave we’ll struggle for a while. Semenyo found the occasion too big, but will learn from that.

Let’s go get another title blues!

Really hoping that Newcastle can somehow steal a draw out of Arsenal. I don't see it happening anymore but if they sit in and Howe lets Gordon, Elanga, and Osula stay high, they could get something.

Ramsdale
Thiaw Botman Burn
Trippier BrunoG Tonali Hall
Elanga Osula Gordon

Something like that could be tough for Arsenal to break down. Real shame they won't have that thug bastard Joelinton to leave a few in on Eze, Odegaard, but hopefully BrunoG being back can help that.

For a team that didn't want it badly enough they scared the living shit out of me,god knows what condition I would be in if they did want it badly enough:)

Did they get the points ?
It's all about wanting it badly enough

Yes, they had chances and should have done better with them, but City bossed the game and had players wanting it more. It's all about the 3 points and City took them

Monumental performance with Haaland overpowering Gabriel yet again. Bernardo out of this world. Doku a constant menace. Khusanov - truly world class. O'Reilly - strength, pace, skill and real understanding of the game, Cherki - what can I say - a £30m world class youngster dancing through the Arsenal defence, Guehi - world class, Haaland - world's greatest striker, Nunes - consistent, Donna - world's best despite the error, Semenyo - great start to his City career but needs the right studs, Rodders - close to his very best.
Are you sure you're not a scouser :)

Watching the game in the ground I thought everyone was immense, even Donna after his howler. Watching the game back this morning I thought Guehi, Semenyo and Doku were all down from their usual levels. Obviously their usual levels are pretty fucking high, but I didn't think any of them shone.

Haaland and Cherki I thought were fantastic, Bernie even more so but NOR I thought was just incredible.

And one thing I missed in the ground was after Cherki scored, there was just a little bit of goading the arsenal fans. Taylor had a word with him.

Which was about the only thing Taylor got right all game.

Two weeks ago, Arsenal were looking at being potentially 12 points clear.

After Wednesday, they could be level on points. That's where the momentum is, and we must keep it going.

Great game overall. But we nearly blew it. The drop off when Savinho, Foden & Nico G came on nearly cost us the game. Semenyo needs to get with it.
Wouldn't lay that at their door. We were camping in to see it out and Arsenal were ramping up the tempo because they were desperate. Nico G made some good contributions, Foden was tidy and did his job, Savinho is a winger playing at full-back by that point in the game and definitely looked that way but it's not his fault. They all did alright imo.

Doku ripped Mosquera to shreds. Great performance from Jeremy, as usual attracting the attention of two, occasionally three, defenders.
