Arsenal (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I know where you're coming from. However that fella with the bottle is having a great time and if it comes back to bite him on the arse I'm sure he'll take it.

I think if that was the other way round yesterday we'd have had a dig at Arsenal for going way over the top with 5/6 games to go. I'm not comfortable with all the 'bottle job' nonsense as we've got a tough run in.

That said I'm an old **** and a lot of our younger fans have only ever seen us go on these runs and win. Maybe they'd say I'm just a moaning old ****. More than happy to keep my powder dry until the last ball is kicked.

That said, what a fucking game that was yesterday. Sky must have loved it after the pre match billing.

Spot on

I am an old fart too hahaha, but I still think the City fans are the greatest fans on earth. The amount of shit we take in the media and with all the other clubs with the 115 and cheating chants (we know what you are) The Arsenal fans singing it all game to ease their pain, that's why we won ? we are cheating hahaha

It was one of the best games for the atmosphere at the Etihad, the build-up to the game itself, it had everything
and a good advert for the Premier League and the overseas Manchester City fans will be wanting more and more

Great win, City fans bouncing. The City players gave it 100%, Pride in Battle

Yep.
But he didn't say it Live....as it was happening,as he is supposed to do as a neutral pundit....
He chose to use a flat tone " what is that " ..similar to the dull tone of the City !! Granada vid in 81......He should have been shouting from the rooftops about Brilliant football skill as it happened
That's the way football media works Alan, remember Gasgoine mania in the 80s?
The commentary used to bring the action to life.

Tbh in this instance I think you’re misunderstanding what Neville is trying to say. He is nothing but complimentary here, and his “what is that?” is meant as a way of expressing how otherworldly it is to him. It’s all praise from start to finish.
Nope. " What is that..." In a flat monotone voice of a jealous utd supporting pundit.
I'm not having that. I've listened to commentary on football all my life and I know how a good commentator should get excited about the pure brilliant skill,...and anyway, why was Gary never the pundit.why not Mike Summerbee.?
You've got a dull full back who hates City, who has not the god given skills that NOR has..commentating on a game of high skill.
It just doesn't work!

Listening to commentary all your life hasn’t helped you much then. You can even hear him exclaim “Brilliant!” as Nico escapes. Then what followed is him describing how crazy good modern fullbacks are, using what it was like in his day as a comparison. It’s wild to think Neville is being anything other than complimentary there. He also followed it by talking about how he’s a must for England in the summer.

I’ve just watched MotD, and as others have said, shrek is as bitter as they come.

"I think the City celebrations at the end were a bit premature and OTT."

"IF Arsenal win all their games, they have a great chance."

Clutching at straws.

Fuck off, you bitter, fat, thick, Scouse, granny-shagging twat!

If his words keep our players completely focused and determined then i couldnt give a toss what he says ..... Arsenal may well win all their remaining games, and they could well be six points ahead of us in a week or two, but we can't worry about that ... we HAVE to look after our own affairs, play each game as it comes as well as we can do, and try to WIN all six remaining matches .... Arsenal showed on Sunday that they're still a very dangerous opponent, even though they struggled to convert their chances, and we now have to better their results in the remainder of this title run in .... starting hopefully with a resounding win at Burnley !

Arsenal have just five league games left, and the chances are they WILL respond to the loss at the Etihad. .... this is the only chance we'll get now to finish ahead of them !

Love that. He must have been so relieved.

Yep, he must have been relieved ..... he'd dropped a right clanger earlier, why didn't he just turn it out for an Arsenal corner ????

Luckily, in the event, it didn't turn out to be too costly, but it so easily could have been.

To be fair to him though he didn't let the clanger play on his mind, and he did well after it, so fair play to him ..... he's now learnt the hard way that you can"t dwell on the ball in the Premier League.

They'll struggle to get 6 points ahead of us before tomorrow!

I'm not talking about tomorrow, I'm referring to the games after that .. we all know about the Burnley game tomorrow, and a city win will only level us up on points with them anyway, so I'm not including it .... Arsenal will then play two league games before we play in the league again, because of our semi final, and if they win them our resolve will definitely be put to the test again.

But ,correct me if I'm wrong, it was direct from a throw in and Donna could have picked it up immediately or dived on it when he saw the attacker coming.
I didn’t have a clue whether he could however, just asked google and apparently rule 12 says he can’t and an indirect free kick is awarded from where the handling occurred, or on the 6 yard line if inside the goal area.
