I mean in terms of 99% of team predictions having Laporte at left back. So he did have choices. Not ideal ones, but he still had some options and he still chose the one that barely anyone expected. I don’t recall seeing anyone on any platform correctly predicting this back 4 over recent days! That’s why I say he’ll either be fielding “did you overthink it?” questions, or nobody will say anything as usual if we win :)

Of course, but I am not sure anyone would say he is as surprising a value as Akanji, and that is mostly what determines signing of the season.
