Arsenal - pre match thread.

There is little or nothing to suggest that our players and management are going to turn up in the right frame of mind so I hope that the crowd does.
I always turn up with high hopes and determination to urge the team on, after the first ten minutes I have got over it and am completely deflated with our pedantic and timid football.

I know our record against top-8 teams this season makes for depressing reading but if we do beat arsenal won't be that bad a season.
CL semifinal
League cup winners
Third place in the league (of course assuming we beat Swansea afterwards)

Considering the injury list, few top players no longer at their best and issues with tactics against pressing teams, that's relatively decent ahead of hopefully a good revamp of the squad thus summer.
The "if" is the biggest thing really. Given our pathetic league form we don't really deserve to be in CL next year so can't really complain if we fall short. The LC win was sweet but not sure that it represents a major achievement. Likewise it is unfair to deny that we have made strides forward in Europe but the two legs against Madrid has shown there is still a long road ahead. You are right it won't go down in the record books as a disasterous season if we win the last two games but it might if we don't.

As with all our games if we play with some tempo I'd always fancy us, we are just much too slow and ponderous.

The arse fans are also pissed off with Wenger, an early goal for us and the arse fans will be kicking off with their team.

First goal wins.

the light at the end of the tunnel is we are not going down hahahaha

been the best 5 years and many silverware's already won so this season Manchester city are in a so called mess hahahahahaa. for when I recall 30odd years going to main road and dreaming of winning just the league cup YES a trip to Wembley that's all and how hard can it be. its not the biggest thing to win the big teams play weakened teams so why not I used to think

I recall 6 or 7 seasons in a different league yoyo up and down and back again the dreams of winning the league cup gone up in smoke. 2016 league cup winners MANCHESTER CITY and am feeling f*cking mad about just winning the league cup

You've summed it up perfectly. I seem to remember the rags winning the LC and finishing 3rd (?) .The GPC listed the big clubs who hadn't won a trophy who would swop places with them. At the time I would gladly have done.

There's been plenty of lows but also highs: the SF v Everton and the penalty shoot out v Liverpool immediately spring to mind. The run in the CL shouldn't be discounted.

Loads to look forward to next season but the next two matches are absolutely key. Win them and it's been a decent although strangely depressing season: probably achievement wise it would beat coming second last time round and finishing potless although we all know it masks a different reality. A very strange season really.

I'd rather not even think about not beating Arsenal though. Not making the CL would make the season a disaster.

City 1 - 2 Arsenal

Hello Europa League.

Surely Nasri must be bursting a gut to play in this game, he doesn't have a point to prove but it would be great to see him get the winner.

Hopefully Nasri and Nacho will play this game definatly 2 players who will wanna play and put a performance in. Hopefully we will be up for this and get a good win for what will be a massive 3 points. 3-0 City
