Are these the weak links in the team?

I know there's one or two more who maybe haven't been that consistent either but the one's I find myself and other people I know criticising the most are all the ex Arsenal players.

Toure - ok tonight, but has had a really poor season.
Ade - shite again, has had more bad games than good games or has been suspended.
Vieira - past it, no pace, no desire, no hunger.
Sylvinho - past it.

Add Taylor to that also if you don't think he's been great in the few friendlies we've seen and it's becoming a bit of a pattern. Wenger's not stupid.

Toure has improved since he is playing for his place in effect.

Ade and Vieira should be replaced by Rocky and Barry for Burnley.

Toure was OK did not do too much wrong but for me not our first choice centre half (Lescott and Kompany first choice) more gutted Toure is in front of Ned to be honest.

Ade - decent player but cant play with Tevez - it dont work - move hom in for me.

Viera - he is only on a season contract cant see it being renewed looked poor poor poor tonight.

Sylviniho - Decent pro and does a job for the last 10 minutes or do - dont have a major downer on him.

The single biggest problem is our midfield and lack of creativity.

Viera didn't have a very good game tonight by any stretch of the imagination but what he did do was put a world class pass in for the 1st, which before then didn't really look like coming.

I'm not his biggest fan but he doesn't really deserve all the abuse he got from a few sat near me tonight.

I kind of agree .....

it's rare for Arsenal to let good players go , or for them even to want to leave for that matter ......

you can find the odd exception , such as the likes of Anelka , or maybe Ashley Cole ... but by and large players that leave there are either struggling to get in the first team ..... or they're almost 'washed up'!

As for the four players you mention .... if i was City manager NONE of them would be at the club!

That was not a world class pass - any half decent keeper would have collected the ball - the keeper shat it simples

Yeah they are Arsenal rejects but good enough for the teams fighting for the last Champions League place.

I am sure that Given wouldn't have collected the ball.

I see where your coming from but I like Toure and Ade Toure has had a rollercoaster season good performances and bad but as for Ade yes he is shit in the air but its the little things like holding up the ball which allows Tevez create space for himself, to be honest I think Ade and Tevez link up so well together and it would be foolish to split them up now Ade is back.

As for Viera and Sylvinho wouldn't piss on there teeth if there mouths were on fire

Adebayor may be the only one worth retaining but he is frustrating. Does anyone remember earlier this season how amazing he was - fired up, banging them in, basically doing what Tevez is doing now. After the Arsenal incident it all went south but he did bag a few vital goals after coming back from the ACN, even though he wasn't playing well despite that. An enigma to be sure, can be as good as Drogba at his best and worse than Santa Cruz at his worst.

I have never seen a true Centre Forward spend so much time on the fucking wing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The wingers get some decent crosses in and we aim at short arses (like myself @ 5` 6") and where is Ade ??????????
Yep out there on the wing.
Bloody Hell Mr.M, get him in the middle as a true centre forward and somone to aim at !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute bollox. Everyone will be licking ades gooch again soon. His first game back after 4 games out, give the guy a fucking break, he's class, we all know it so get off his back and stop fucking moaning for once.

I don't think we watched the same game.
Toure has been doing great since coming back and our defence looks very solid and much more mobile with him there.
Ade, if his shot in first half which had the keeper beat but was blocked by bramble this thread wouldn't have been opened. Its not a fluke that when he is playing our midfield and defense is under a lot less pressure because he can hold up the ball as good as anyone and can make space. and for the first goal, he was there with Tevez to put pressure on the keeper. Would be nice to see him stay more central, but not a poor game at all, considering he's been out for a while some match fitness will only make him better.
Vieira has been doing what everyone expect him to be doing. He is being put down by a lot of fans because he doesn't chase players down, tackle or sprint. But thats not his role, he is there to do what none of our other CM seem to be able to do, that is have some vision, thread in an assist or two every game and give us some aerial presence which he did today. If it was up to the fans we would get eleven olympic sprinters in our team chasing every ball and wonder why we're not winning.
Sylvinho, has undoubted leadership qualities, great attitude and plays anywhere the coach asks him to. Any top quality side would benefit having him on the squad.
