He'll have to offer a decent price if he expects Usmanov to sell.
That wont bother him, the debt for the sale will just tag on the end of the Arses £400 million existing debt.
It sounds a bit like the pool one but with a debt as big as the rags.

Arsenal cleared over £150m of that debt recently.... the actual figure according to their latest accounts is nearer £200m of Stadium debt, with no other debt of any consequence...

The original loans/debts for the stadium were £350m..... approx.....

I sense a merging is imminent ;-)

This. When the merge happens, look at someone's post in General Football forum, it's fascinating. Arsenal could be down the shitter with this one.

But there are no guarantees that it is good news for Arsenal fans. For despite Kroenke's appearance at No117 on the Forbes rich list, no one can know for sure what he is worth nor indeed how indebted he is. Kroenke's sports holding company, Kroenke Sports Enterprises, is based in Delaware where there is no regulatory requirement to file annual accounts. And he has not volunteered them. Likewise his real estate company, THF Realty, based in St Louis, Missouri. There is no way of substantiating its claims of having grown into a $2bn (£1.3bn) concern since he set it up in 1991 as again no paperwork is available for public scrutiny.

Search from Colorado to Missouri to Delaware, where his business interests are registered and Silent Stan's disclosures are nowhere to be seen. So itis impossible to tell how much debt, if any, the billionaire has built up. Kroenke's defenders – and he has quite a few – point out he operates in the highly regulated market of US sports, where everything from accounts to FBI checks must be declared to the authorities. But that is no catch-all: so do Tom Hicks and George Gillett, and they are winning no popularity contests at Anfield.

It's a debt leveraged takeover by the looks of it,PMSL. EEEEEEEEKKKKK
Kroenke has no history of loading debt onto his sports teams.

Also, he has never attempted a hostile takeover of the club. This is most likely happening because the board have decided it is for the best.

SwissRamble suggests that the board have planned for this, hence Gazidis' and our commercial officer's appointments from MLS, and their invitation to Kroenke to join the board. This eventuality has been planned for, and is now occuring because the time is right.

I am confident that the board know what they are doing and the club is in safe hands.

He still doesnt necessarily have the additional £500m + that he will need to take control.

Debt is debt no matter how it is brought into the club.

It wont be as expensive as the Glazers though.

Yes but wouldn't you be happier if you actually knew how much debt he was in,not that it matters because he will be loading the debt of buying you onto your club so jobs a good un.
I'm sure you will be proved right & the Russian will not cause any problems for the American......even though the other 2 major shareholders have sold to Kroenke so he wont get control.
Altogether now USA USA USA USA,PMSL.

"The board" is no longer one voice, and therefore will no longer have the power to stop him. This is an internal power struggle, with the outcome that another Yank will have another cash cow.

fighting on the terraces

fighting in the boardroom

any fight on the pitch? nope?

If he has £500 million in cash to stump up, then its a clean purchase with no debt draining payments. Since they already make more than any other club they could be a real power in the transfer market.

He may well have the cash but he isnt likely to use it when he can finance at relatively low rates - unlike the Glazers

If his wife divorces him he's fucked, sorry to be negative:)
On a historical note this takes them back to where they began with a mega-rich owner backing them who also rules the FA with an iron fist.......i made the last bit up because watmore has gone, but you can't have everything..

Second post down.

Re: Stan Kronke is taking over the Arse..

Americans buy prem clubs as they see them as very undervalued vs sporting assets in the states given worldwide viewing figures and potential to grow revenues.

Hes a rich man but make no mistake hes not a Roman or a Sheik Mansour. Hes buying it with a view to making big bucks down the line ; it will be run accordingly.

Basically it means that as with the rags there financial position will massively detoriate over time due to him putting all his purchase costs on the club in the form of debt.

So terrible for Arsenal brilliant for the likes of City, Chelsea and Spurs.

I wonder what the Arsenal fans will say about City having a wealthy owner now.

Bearing in mind that theirs isnt even as rich as Chelsea's either.

Methinks benefactor/sugar daddy's will be in vogue at The Emirates very soon.

The Hill Woods come from Glossop where they made their
fortune in cotton manufacturering

Samuel Hill Wood was chairman and owner of Glossop North End funding it up until World War I.His expenditure was estimated to be more than £30,000 at that time. His efforts and enthusiasm led to the club being included in the enlarged Football League Second Division in 1898. He scoured the country for professional footballers and after only one season Glossop qualified as Second Division runners up and were promoted to the First Division. They were relegated after a season and by 1914 Hill Wood severed his connection and Glossop later resigned from the Football League.

My prediction is that the takeover will happen, Wenger will be shunted up to the board and replaced by Mourinhio next season as Arsenal would like to win something in the next ten years.

With his attitude I am sure Mourinhio would prefer London to Manchester, City or ....

Usmanov is hugely unhappy and feels as if he has been stitched up (which of course he has) so this could drag on for a bit.

I was very interested to read last night that there is some concern about Arsenal's income levels once the windfalls from the property deal at Highbury have dried up.

There was some opinions I read that suggest that they are to be hit by a burgeoning wage bill weh the squad is strengthened.

Interesting FFPR times ahead.
