We are so far behind in our season prep than these lot,just a quick look in but they have a lot of first teamers back and looking good

But why are we? They had 3 players in the world cup final I think (Podolski, Ozil and Mertesacker?), the same as we did (Zab, Kun and Martin). And the final was three weeks ago now. There's no reason why we shouldn't be at the same level of readiness as them.

Good question jimbo,we should have everyone back except zab,kun and demi,i don't understand why we don't have everyone else in America.I hope we are ready for newcastle,a bad start would be crap and god knows what team we will be putting out on sunday

Are we really behind though? We stuffed Milan pretty convincingly and all our non-WC players look sharp and ready. Arsenal just have more player who didn't have a WC. Beating Benfica this pre season isn't exactly tough, I'm pretty sure they've lost every game so far

How many of our WC lads actually aren't in America anyway (other than the three amigos)? Vinny and Fern? Merlin? The England lads are there, as is Edin. If you go by our (arguably) strongest XI from last season,

there shouldn't really be many not ready for the Newcastle game (not that bothered about next weekend), apart from the Argentinian contingent, Fern and the injured players (Beast).

flap more. you are aware of that there are professional who run these things? im sure they do know their stuff..

Or we're preparing better by not burning out important players in meaningless training matches, knowing that the season is really long and draining. What team is it that always famously burns out around the turn of the year again? I'm sure it begins with an A...
