All that money spent and we resorted to Pulis-ball last night.

And (I kid you not) there are reports we've reached an agreement to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich.

And Erik Ten Bob got more trophies in 2 years at that asylum of a club than Arteta has in 5 with a far better team.

If you were a senior executive at a high paying company, were given massive resources and were outperformed by competitors regardless you'd be getting your P45

"I am very proud of the players, 100% I don't think there's been a better team [than Arsenal] in the competition from what I have seen, but we are out."

And this Ladies and Gentlemen is why the Arsenal fans are as deluded as he is, those that lap it up that is.

Surprising fact. City have won more games - 19 - than Arsenal - 18 - in the Premier Leage.
We have also scored more goals - 67 than them - 64.

Obviously we have lost more games and conceded more goals but their drop off has been bug compared to last season. A team in decline?

But it's not him so much, or the fans. It's the job of managers to do that puffing about their teams in front of the cameras. But the media, and particularly the BBC, are more than half-way to going along with that assessment. That's what does my head in.
There is no way that Arsenal even at their best this season can hold a candle to that Barcelona team that I saw the other night. And for sheer cussedness and Italian hanging-in-there nous, they do not compare to Inter. And for speed and precision, they are not on the same level as PSG.
Anybody who watches football long enough can simply see that with their own eyes. I'm not an Arsenal-hater (I've got my work cut out hating the rags and dippers, that'll do me), but I'd like to say to the media, “Just open your eyes, you cretins”.
More generally, though — four representatives in the CL. Four. And not even a finalist. You've got to ask some questions, there…

Five countries had at least four representatives in the CL (Italy had five), so I wouldn't read too much into that. City were an absolute shambles till fairly recently and the other three were knocked out by the likely eventual winners.

You have to learn from every failure, the best do. This refusal to look within and show some humility will always leave you short of taking that next step.

Probably hoping he inherited his dad's long throw.

Seriously though, he's a proper striker. Very raw, but likely to be quality.

Who would have thought that a team that has managed 67 points in the Premier League might not be the best team in Europe? I know sometimes an average team fluke and bore their way to the final, but them getting knocked out can hardly be a surprise.

Yep, it's an absolute piss take that we could have six teams in it next year.

That's astounding. I hadn't really taken that on board. Just checked it — you're right!
I now seriously think we could catch them and overtake them for second spot. Not that it really matters in the big scheme. When you're second, you're second. But it would be fun…

It takes a lot to win the CL. The best team rarely wins it. City have learnt the hard way that you are often battling the referees, decisions and shithousery as much as you are the opposition 11. Sometimes you have to find a different way of winning a game, but across the two legs it showed what has been quite clearly an issue for Arsenal for a number of years and as you say, that's down to those in charge of buying new players.

Martinelli isn't good enough. Zinchenko and Jesus never were, that's why we didn't mind them going. You need someone better than Partey in the 6 and you need a striker. I'd also say you need another 10, someone who isn't afraid to shoot the way Odegaard is. Someone to challenge him and Rice and drive the standards.

A 6, 10, LW and Striker are vital this summer. But that's quite a lot of new players for a team who weren't far off winning the title. The style of play has got worse too. You've got a pretty young squad who shouldn't need to be playing that way.
