I don't understand why you're so fixated on this "he was bought as a 6" line. It's irrelevant, he plays primarily as an 8 for them, they had the foresight to see his potential as an 8. He's better than just a good 8, he's a fantastic 8, their best player and should be a shoe in for team of the year. He would have shone here in that role, there's no harm in accepting players that don't play for us are also extremely good footballers.

Isn't irrelevant, that was the position he'd play throughout his career and 100m was paid for him. He has played as a 6 for Arsenal a number of times and been pants at it, therefor 100m for a 6 being that bad is laughable. He is a good 8, I can list a lot of players that don't play for us and are very good, I have no issue that he isn't here. He has had an easy ride of being a 100m English player, whilst his club have won zip all. The Rice love in is sickening
