Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

In Athletic terminology they are even crap pace setters give it the scousers they did exactly what a pace setter is put on the track for …. To set up record breaking as well as winning

Nah, Arsenal will batter them. Newcastle are shit
Unfortunately true. Newcastle aren't 14th in the table by accident, or by some evil conspiracy. They're shit on the road2l. They've lost just under half of their games so far (15 out of 33). Arsenal, by two or three goals. The sort of result that makes us rue the lack of goals at Burnley in midweek.

Arsenal do like to fuck up in the most unlikely of circumstances though.

You're right, of course - but it's worth highlighting that this season the difference between 14th and 6th is effectively just two wins out of 33 games. That means that the difference between Newcastle at their best and Brighton at their best is virtually nothing in practical reality. That whole batch of teams could rightly say that if a bit of luck had gone their way they might have swung a couple of results and been up and challenging for Champs League spots.

The thing that counts against Newcastle most is probably their form, but Arsenal's form is hardly great either. But as we see nearly every year, there are no easy games in this division. City found that out playing Southampton last year, Arsenal have found it out playing against Wolves. You can look at the league table as much as you want but in the end you have to step on the pitch and win the 3 points.

Another game another motivational video. They treat every game like it’s the last of the season. Come on the barcodes.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Arsenal's biggest problem is that they don't know how to act like they've been there before.

Where was our silly motivational video for the Burnley game that put us top? That's right we didn't make one, because we've done this a hundred times before. When overcoming these challenges feels as ordinary as breathing, that's when you have the mentality of a title winning team.

In Arsenal's head every week comes with the pressure of a cup final, no wonder they're mentally exhausted.

1-0 win, early goal and from then on they struggled, very nervous performance from what the commentary were saying in the final minutes and it was Newcastle doing all the pushing. No chance they're going to scrape another 4 wins on that performance if it's as bad as was suggested, and given their performances over the past couple of months I've no reason to believe otherwise.
