Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

PSG have pissed off other French clubs when the LFP (their FA) rearranged ligue 1 games around their semi final. By all accounts Enrique tends to play mostly b teamers with cameos from his big hitters in the league, meaning they're at full strength for the CL.

For Saturday their only doubts are Dembele, who's expected to recover, and Haichimi, who will be out. They've had 2 weeks since the league finished vs Arsenal who'll have had a week off.

PSG have great attacking options especially the unpronounceable Georgian whereas Arsenal have a very strong defence. Obviously their main attack is relying heavily on set pieces. Most have got PSG as heavy favourites, but it's a one off game, finals are often tight so I think it'll be closer than expected.

I was wondering about that Dave
Funny how Starmer comes out with the notion that this game should be free-to-air! Did he expound the same sentiments at the end of other seasons?
I think I'm correct in saying this is the first time it's NOT been free-to-air somewhere.
Doesn't matter to that walking redundancy - I'm sure he'll be able to watch somewhere!!
Edit: forgot to mention auntie beeb making excuses already about minutes played by both sides top players

That’s because Lego head doesn’t rotate.

Arsenal have effectively had 2 weeks off as we played the B team at Palace.

Last season Donnarumma was phenomenal in the 2 games against us. I'm not convinced PSG have improved vs last season but of course great teams turn up when it matters - look how we were supposed to be favourites for the Carabao final and had our chips pissed on in the 2nd half.

Looking at the midgets PSG have at the back and in midfield I'd imagine Enrique has told them not to give away corners and free kicks. We are underdogs but if we score 1st we have a chance. I'd hate to have to chase the game against PSG with how lethal their counter is. I'd say it's probably 60/40 in favour of PSG and I still can't understand why they let Donnarumma go else I'd say it would be 70% in their favour

Maybe the broadcaster wants as few people to watch as possible just incase Arsenal win it.

A gooner fan I vaguely know shot past me today on his pushbike and shouted out, "Jealous, Bertie?" I couldn't respond in time, but it's ridiculous the way some of their fanbase are behaving. Considering all that we've achieved, why would City be envious of a club that has cheated its way to a one-off trophy, by breaking every rule on the pitch, with all officials turning a blind eye, and playing the worst football since the Dog and Duck last Sunday?

I think he knew this deep down, that's why he didn't slow down or stop to talk: he knew I'd tie him up in knots. Like the cowardly bully who creeps up behind you, shoves you over, and then runs like fuck so you have no chance of revenge. I'll find out who the mouthy wanker is, confront him with facts, and then watch as he embarrasses himself even more with his fictionalised version of how the season was.

I put on a £100 acca 3 weeks ago that is up going on PSG to lift the trophy for £457.
I put £40 on the same acca but with Arsenal lifting the trophy for £335.
I can't lose on this final game.
But I don't just want PSG to win for the extra £122 I will get if they do, no it's because I f#ckin dislike everything about shittiest Premier league champions EVER

You managed to get to the final without facing Real Madrid/Barcelona/PSG, teams that I think are better equipped to pose Arsenal, and ourselves, problems. As you say, conceding first would be hugely detrimental to your chances, so I expect you to play cautiously and look to suffocate them. They do make mistakes. If you do concede first, however, and the game becomes stretched, then the fundamental flaws underpinning your success will be cruelly exposed.
