Zubimendi a downgrade on Partey? Not a chance. He's been excellent. Re the results vs last season - we also won at the Swamp and drew last year and won at Newcastle and lost last year.

Re Gyokeres - he's doing a job by occupying the centre backs and making space for the wide guys. He's no Haaland but he's been useful.
Really.
Early days but he is no better than Harvitz,Jesus or anybody else.

Having watched him he's miles more effective than them in occupying centre backs. He's basically a battering ram. Hopefully the goals come (albeit only Haaland has scored more PL goals than him this season) but he gives us a direct option which we don't get with Havertz or Jesus. In any case those players are all different so it gives Arteta more tactical options.

I think Zubimendi is a great player. With much more potential than Declan Rice for starters. Certainly your best signing for years.

You've got the squad to win the league this year. You've addressed the attacking issues you had and have strengthened your defence and midfield further as well. The media were so focussed on us losing our usual level and the rags being filth that they missed the fact the dippers only got 84pts last season. Furthermore, only 75pts were needed to win the title. That's a significant decline from previous years.

Liverpool were poor defensively and still are. They didn't address their weakness and will suffer the same fate you did.

The only question mark is us. Will we gel in time to get the results to push you? Most on here are measuring us against where we were but I don't think we need to be as ruthless as that. I would expect you to get around 86pts. That means we don't need the improvement in results that some probably perceive we do. It's crudely turning one loss into a win over a 10game block. There were 5pts left out there against Brighton and yourselves already this season...so fine margins.

The reason I think your total will be in that range is purely because of the pressure on Arteta to secure a trophy. That means he can't throw any competition and naturally that means he'll pick stronger teams than are perhaps necessary, which could see your results in the league suffer.

You also need to take a few more points off them for when the ball is too round mate

BBC reporting Arsenal are considering playing at Wembley while they expand the Emirates.
Very early days so no info on increased capacity or length of time for the job.
I couldn't see them sharing with Spurs to be fair.

Wembley the neutral option. Unless they can get a West Ham type dodgy deal to be in The London Stadium.

Wrong! Erling (9), Semenyo (6), J. Anthony (4) & Igor Thiago (4) has scored more goals in PL than Gyokeres this season. 9 more players are tied with him on 3 goals.

And take away penalties and it only becomes 2 goals. He’s a very average player and I’m calling it they won’t win anything of note with him as their main striker.

You massively underrate the steel Partey provided to your midfield and he could play as well. Horrible human being very good footballer. Zubumendi was extremely non effective against us I thought and the goal you conceded at Anfield the free kick came from Liverpools midfield running right through him.

I still think he’s going to get found out massively in the premier league

Gyokeres 3 goals (including one penalty) alongside nine other players.

Igor Thiago 4 goals (1 penalty)

Jaidon Anthony 4 goals

Antoine Semenyo 6 goals (1 penalty)

Erling Haaland 9 goals.

Statistics not your strongest suit obviously

Has Haaland not taken a penalty yet? Wow really puts into perspective just how amazing a season he is having

Whatever. Gyokeres is now October Int'l break champion, none of those other players can say that.

Never mind Haaland scoring a PL penalty, never mind no City player at all scoring a penalty, we haven't even been awarded a single one this season. That model of breathtaking, attacking football Manchester United, meanwhile, were awarded three in their first 6 games.
