Honestly I don't think Arsenal are playing anywhere near their potential - too many injuries. 6 out of 8 attackers are out injured! But City are such an unknown in so far as they have a very high ceiling and if Rodri comes back in Ballon D'Or mode then it may be a case of 'hello darkness my old friend' for me and fellow Gooners. Let's see.

Gabriel now out until Jan according to the BBC. Fingers crossed for the Spanish lads tonight against Turkey! Calafiori missed the Italy game and Timber got injured for the Netherlands! Although the latter 2 it seems aren't serious knocks.

Seems like we will let Nwaneri go on loan in Jan which is pretty damning seeing as all those attackers are out and he still doesn't get a game.

They will revert to the norm without Gabriel, but I think that table is from a couple of games ago.

Maybe, but we have won more than a few trophies, whereas cheating Arsenal, under Lego head have won the sum total of one FA Cup with what was basically Emery’s team.

Was a good tactic but we haven't scored from a long throw this season so not sure they really needed to do that.

Except you have the deepest squad in the league and have players capable of coming in for those currently out without the level dropping.

You are talking as though you are a lower table team who are going through a crisis and temporarily are adopting a backs against the wall approach.

What you are seeing now is your style of play. You aren’t going to automatically turn into 1970s Brazil when the players you mentioned come back.

Arteta believes your current style is what will get you over the line and he’ll stick with it. All this talk about letting the hand brake off is nonsense. Did Simeone ever decide to take the handbrake off? No. For better or worse he stuck to his style

For the record and taking account major trophies only ( the 3 domestic and CL ) over the past 10 years….
We have spent £70 million/trophy.
Arsenal £480m/trophy.
We seem to spend our money well.

I can try and explain why I hope the attack can improve, whether it works out like that we'll need to wait and see.

Firstly, unlike what you say, Arsenal have shown at times they can score lots of goals under Arteta, the first half of 22/23, the 2nd half of 23/24 being prime examples.

They do have able deputies like you say, but the attack is almost built round Odegaard and he has barely played this season.

Also, although we have able deputies, it would be good to be able to rest and rotate guys like Gyokeres, or even better able to 'power up' from the bench towards the end of games instead of the forwards looking tired and having to play the full 90.

Like I said, this is all hope rather than definite expectation though.

I can only recall 5 players offhand that had Gabriel in their name and 4 of them are at arsenal.
Batistuta is the other one.

Are you throwing the odd midfielder in those six attackers? If not, tell me the six attackers please. Also the two who are fit, just for completeness.
Is Gabriel classed as a forward as most of your goals come from set pieces?
