Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Mate come on! Last night was disappointing but Brentford are a decent side. They won at Villa with 10 men for a half!

We are top by 4 points. Doesn't mean we are guaranteed to win it but that's a great position. Do you think City will win every game from now? They have to beat us which won't be easy. Both sides will drop more points but they realistically need to beat us at the Etihad.

If they turn it round and win the league then fair fucks to them but they have a big job on their hand to do that and realistically they will need to win at least 10 of their last 12 to get the league and one of those wins has to be against us. Not easy.

As a 'realistic worst case' we might draw against Spurs away, Chelsea home and Palace away and lose at the Etihad. That would put us on 84 points. I think we will actually end up more likely on 86 or 88 points.

But say we got 84 points that means City would need to get 32 points from the 36 available, meaning they can afford 2 draws or a loss and a draw, and they HAVE to beat us.
You make it sound like beating you is something we can only aspire to. You are a good side but definitely nothing special. You have no fear factor, why would you you’ve won nothing and are dull to watch. Surely you should be thinking getting a point or not getting beat at the Etihad is actually a bigger ask for you lot.

I haven't said anything remotely disrespectful about City. I've said they have a tough ask to win the league from here but that it is possible. You talk about 'mask dropping' and others say that too but all I've done is point out the facts about current league position, matches still to come and been realistic about it, whilst still not ruling City out.

Or am I supposed to just say City will piss the league from here just for the sake of it even though we both know that at the current moment City will be huge underdogs.

Me being disrespectful would have been to say something like City are a bad team etc but that is not what I have said.
Your diatribe just comes across as cocky buddy, telling your Tarquin mate what we have to do! We know what we have to do! We've been here before chasing teams down. We may not chase you down and you may win the league and fair fucks to you if you do but to write what to me comes across as cocky and as though you're on a Tarquin forum just seems a bit....well cocky! And sometimes you do come across as disrespectful when your mask slips. Not always I admit but sometimes. Anyway enjoy your day CTWD

Bit mad the shite you're taking on this thread tbf, like it's out of order for an Arsenal fan to be contributing to an Arsenal thread.

You ain't been disrespectful in the slightest to City at any point from what I've seen. You're just backing your team. As you should do. As we are with City.
Yep. He's been fine since he came on. We're not a good forum for accepting views from other fans.

If we were chasing Liverpool more of us would agree with you but you have shown nothing to suggest that you won’t wilt under the pressure of a close title race.

Even for the upcoming match at the Etihad. You will go there in two minds not knowing whether to go for it or play for the draw. While we will 100% be going out to win the match. Guaranteed it will be arteta sleepless nights already.

Your manager doesn’t exude calmness or control. He looks terrified and nervous and that filters down to the players.

Plenty of twists and turns yet. Arsenal in pole position but all to play for, the Etihad game will be huge

They were a pretty disgusting team in Wenger's later years too.
When the team was basically Graham's defence with Wenger's attack they were a stunning side to watch but by the time you get to the Reyes, Fabregas, Van Persie era they were a horrible bunch of divers annd cheats.
That team were the first side to really pollute the Premier League with diving and snidery as part of their tactics and set up not just one or two players going down easily.
That pires dive epitomises arsenals dna

If you think that being fair minded is standing up for a tarquin who comes onto a city forum and loudly claims that Declan Rice walks into any City starting 11 of the last 10 or so years then I’m going to have to reassess how I interpret the phrase.
Standing up for him and agreeing with everything he says are very different things.

That Rice over Yaya shout is the best laugh I've had in a long time. I don't agree with a lot of what he says but some of the responses to him just being here have been bang out of order.

He's on a forum on a thread that represents his club, he's every right to contribute. And not be given the kind of abuse he's had at times.

So yeah, you probably should reassess.

Well that's the problem with written words vs speaking as people can interpret messages differently. In my post I made it clear that I could see us losing at the Etihad so I absolutely wasn't painting that as a supremely difficult match for City - just one that they have to win.

There is no way Arteta will go all out for a win at the Etihad unless you have overtaken us in the table by then.

It will be cagey with an attempt to profit from set pieces. Donnarumma has a hoodoo over Arsenal as well- particularly from his PSG days

I know every top team has bedwetters including ours but browsing arse mania last night 95 percent of the fanbase thinks we are gonna win it and at least 70 percent want Lego out, that is fucking ridiculous.
We have done some serious mental damage to your fanbase for them to be 4 points clear with a reasonable amount of winnable games and still have no confidence to see the season out.
Reverse our situations and I’d guess there won’t be many in here thinking like that.
I don’t include you btw.

Not at all, I don’t find him disrespectful in the slightest, I mean he’s an arsenal fan what do you think he should say, surely he has to think they have a good chance of winning without blowing smoke up our arses.
It’s a shame we don’t have more fans from other teams who’s willing to have a sensible conversation about the game. Like others have said we are not a great forum for fans of other teams.

We are not a great forum for City fans never mind opposition fans!! Haha!

Possibly because of the rag, dipper supporting types who come on here pretending to be City supporters or purely to wind up the forum.

They usually don't last long obviously before they are exposed and fucked off, and he isn't the worst.

I remember when the Tarquins signed Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko in 2022 for a combined £85 million.
The usual fuckwits were claiming what a coup it was, how we would regret letting them go and how they would both add to their collection of Premier League winners medals.
That aged well didn’t it.
Jesus is a good sub. for them. They've still not fixed their centre forward problem.

We’re the greatest forum in the land and all the world and this is a forum for City fans.

Individuals on here don’t HAVE to embrace inclusivity and we certainly don’t have to be a great forum for supporters of rival teams. There are (just a few!) people on here, as in life, who could be considered rude and disrespectful and others who are incredibly polite and tolerant. Some poster’s aren’t just rude to Arsenal interlopers either!

I’m not sure many of us would fare particularly well on well on the dippers, rags, tarquin’s forum or any other fan forum for that matter!

Personally, I don't have any interest in what's going on at another club's forum. Other supporters seem more concerned about us and what we're doing than their own club so fuck 'em.
