Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Arteta in his interview looked like one of those WW1 shellshocked PTSD sufferers, long may it continue.

2 wins in 7 is truly horrific form, I hadn't realised it was that bad but how the fuck have they hit that form and are still clear at the top? As much as we will all delight in another Arsenal bottlejob if they continue like this (please!!!) You do have to ask questions of the chasing pack too, ourselves included, if they're still clear at the top after such a dreadful run of form.
We haven’t been good this season. For me this should be a one horse race because we’ve not put together more than about three decent 90 minutes performances all season, we’re only on course for a 77 point season, we’ve already lost 5 games by February… yet we’re still there or there abouts!

A similar thing happened at Anfield a few years ago. Arsenal were 2 up and drew 2-2. The camera panned to Zinchenko on the Arsenal bench and it looked for all the money in the world that he was thinking ‘fuck, I know City, and they are going to catch us..”
Sadly, it’s a different City team now.

I hope Pep, and the old guard left, still have the ruthless know-how in these remaining months.

The problem is it’s all in the mind

We are not the team we once were but we are right under their skin

Best team/squad they have had and are now shaking like a shitting dog

It is. We have no idea what minerals Trafford Guehi Khusanov Nunes O’Reilly Ait-Nouri Nico Cherki Reijnders Marmoush and Semenyo will have in a title race.

Would be good to see Pep start doing a Mancini soon and saying to the media that we won’t win the league, we have no chance, it’s Arsenal’s… ramp up the pressure on them even more.

It’s a different(better) Arsenal team as well but it’s trending towards the same outcome for them

We’ve every chance

It is a different team but Title winners in it ...

Gvardiol
Dias
Nunes
Rodri
Foden
Bernardo
Haaland
Doku

Donnarumma also just came off the back of a treble winning season at PSG.

Kovacic and Stones still around the squad and looking likely available again for the run in.

But they still have Bernardo, whose never-say-die attitude at Klanfield was what got us back into that game, Rúben, John, Nathan, Erling, Rodri, Phil and Rico with Premier League winner's medals to their name, as well as players like Gigi, who won the Champions League last season, and though they’re injured, Mateo and Joško, who can bring their experience to the table to help guide the less experienced members of the squad through the next three months.

Quite surprised by this, their latest capitulation - but it's much appreciated nonetheless. And if it means they miss out on the greatest English trophy there is then like millions and millions of other football fans I will look upon this result as a pivotal moment in the season, much like the 3-3 dippers vs Palace game a few years back, a game that effectively caused the vile scousers to miss out on the Prem.
But when making comparisons like this it's important to remember that the dippers were giving it a go: they were playing football and urging themselves on to score goals - in absolute contrast to what we've seen from Arsenal since Cap'n Black took over. I've seen Sunday pub teams play with more guile and creativity than his Arsenal team.

Like a few on here I am old enough to remember Revie's Leeds sides from way back: neanderthal thugs who would rather break an opponent's legs than get past him using skill and ball control. But I am now firmly of the belief that Arsenal under Arteta are worse, far worse than any of Revie's teams from the 70's.

I had an old mate say to me recently that Arsenal were very much like Wimbledon: hoofing the long ball and kicking fuck out of any opposition player who tried to stop you. But I argued that there could be no comparison: Wimbledon did not spend millions and millions on single players, they did not train using state of the art technology, they did not have their pick of the world's best physiotherapists, or have access to cutting edge medical equipment for their players, and just as important - they certainly did not have the tacit approval of every sports journalist or media hack in the country bigging them up every step of the way. Wimbledon were basically a pub team come good, and despite having a following of fans cheering on the perpetual underdogs, they were despised by football's elite simply because they did not fit, they were not 'one of us.' They played the game with a raw, no-nonsense approach and that was not appreciated our class-conscious media.

I've just watched highlights of the Wolves - Arsenal game and I find it a bit weird that after the Wolves equalizer, I didn't see any Arsenal player hurrying to pick the ball out of the net for a quick restart. Says a lot about their mentality. The equalizer was in the 94th minute, so they still had 2+ minutes which is more than enough time to get a winner against the worst team in the League. I know Spurs are shit, but I won't be surprised if Arsenal drop more points against Spurs
Despite what the media say they have a tough run-in. They have derbies against Chelsea, Palace, Spurs, West Ham, and. Fulham. They go away to Brighton. The fans of these clubs all hate Arsenal and want to damage them. It us ours to lose now. We just have to match their results and beat them at our place.

We are a new young team in transition which has got better and better just as Pep predicted. We had terrible injuries but now have a full squad. Whatever happens we will be fantastic next season. Arsenal have been too negative and cautious. Cheating and time wasting will be their legacy.
