I don’t think we’ve ever lost out in a “title fight” since Aguerooooooo have we?

We’ve either won or lost by over a dozen.

Since the takeover really. You could argue the case that we lost a race in 2015, maybe, but we only finished 8 points behind Chelsea because we won our last six games in a row as Chelsea took their foot off the gas after wrapping the league up. When Chelsea were confirmed as champions the gap to City in 2nd was 13 points.

2011 - never really in it (3rd, 10 points off 1st)
2012 - won it
2013 - never really in it (2nd, 11 points off)
2014 - won it
2015 - never really in it (2nd, 8 points off)
2016 - nowhere near (4th, 15 points off)
2017 - never really in it (3rd, 15 points off)
2018 - won it
2019 - won it
2020 - never really in it (2nd, 18 points off)
2021 - won it
2022 - won it
2023 - won it
2024 - won it
2025 - nowhere near (3rd, 13 points off)

The Rice and Eze moment was all manufactured to waste more time.
Just like Gabriel going down feigning a head injury and Rice telling the medical team to stay off the pitch as he knew Gabriel was play acting and didn't want him to be off the pitch for 30 seconds.
Ploys invented and practised on the training pitch by your manager and coaching staff.
The redshirt media tell us you're a fantastic team yet you resort to the dark arts in almost every game.
Thankfully most football fans in this country see this and would rather 'big bad City' win the league over yourselves because of it.
Arteta has made you one of the most disliked football teams in recent memory

Looked a bit further into this. In each season, this is how many weeks we spent at the top of the table and the last gameweek (GW) of the season that finished with us in 1st.

2011 - 1st for 0 weeks; N/A
2012 - 1st for 24 weeks; GW 38
2013 - 1st for 1 week; GW 12
2014 - 1st for 3 weeks; GW 38
2015 - 1st for 2 weeks; GW 20
2016 - 1st for 12 weeks; GW 14
2017 - 1st for 9 weeks; GW 10
2018 - 1st for 34 weeks; GW 38
2019 - 1st for 20 weeks; GW 38
2020 - 1st for 1 week; GW 1
2021 - 1st for 19 weeks; GW 38
2022 - 1st for 24 weeks; GW 38
2023 - 1st for 8 weeks; GW 38
2024 - 1st for 10 weeks; GW 38
2025 - 1st for 5 weeks; GW 9

So across the seven seasons we've not won the league since 2011, we've spent 30 weeks at the top of the table (4.2 weeks per season, on averge) and the latest gameweek that finished with us top was gameweek 20, which fell on January 10th in the 2014-15 season. So yeah, when we're in the picture at this stage, we usually do it.
