Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Brighton dominated in shots and possession but couldn't get a goal. Meanwhile, Forest pulled 2 goals out of their arse. It's been like that the entire year. I can't wait until this season is over, holy shit.

That will be a tough game. They should have had at least 1 pen against us and had they kept 11 on the pitch would have got a result. But you play them just before you play us so if you win there the confidence will be high.
Difference now is you can't fully trust City to win pretty much any of the remaining games. Of course we will win some, probably most of them. But we'll probably beat Chelsea then draw away at Burnley or something stupid. We will drop more daft points.
You lot haven't been immune to that either but you're in a better run of grinding out wins at the right time of the season for once. Plus the obvious points gap and you have a really clear advantage now. Even getting beat at our place wouldn't be a disaster for you.

This City side is good but it's not a champion calibre side yet. You've been building towards this for years now and looks very much like it's yours. You won't get many plaudits for how you play. Neville will be delighted for you I'm sure but a lack of appreciation or respect from others towards how you've gone about it won't matter at all with the medals round your next.

Not done by any means plenty of football left...it's just how I feel about it now. Have thought it's your league to lose pretty much all season.

IMHO he's talking out of his arse. You will have been watching your game not ours but basically Brighton's attacking play was to try and hoof the ball into the Arsenal box for the whole of the 2nd half and then try and influence the ref over time wasting etc.

We were shit offensively tonight but Hurzeler talking as if he's prime Pep is bullshit. They played hoofball today and that tactic doesn't work against Arsenal's defence unless you have big units up front.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said "only one side tried to play football" after the game as he accused the Gunners of time-wasting tactics involving David Raya, who received treatment on three occasions.

Remember when Donna went down once and the players went to Pep for instructions and that was labelled ‘donarruma-esque’ for about the next three months?

Just seen one of them. He makes a save, lands on his right arm and then stays down holding his left shoulder.

It’s like none of their players can do their job without needing to make a song and dance about it.

Take off your red glasses. I think it’s pretty evident he means ‘play football’ in a literal sense rather than a stylistic sense. You timewaste at the best of times but I can imagine tonight was even worse once you got an early lead. You didn’t have a shot after the Saka goal for nearly 50 minutes apparently.

Thankfully I didn’t have to sit through watching a turgid Arsenal tonight. Just a turgid City.

Both times an Arsenal outfield player went down they were made to come off the pitch for 30 seconds. There was a definite time waste by Raya but the 2 outfield players (you'll be shocked that one was Saka.....) were fouled.

We were poor, Brighton pressed well but apart from an error from Raya at the start and a header in the box in the 2nd half they created nothing. Their XG was 0.8 despite all the 'wonderful football' Hurzeler thinks they played.

Hurzeler was at it before the match trying to influence the ref and he dislikes Arteta as they have previous history. But his side were basically a temu.com Brentford in terms of how they attacked and were putting in elbows and holding back players all match. Fuck Hurzeler. I'll take the criticism when it's deserved (and has been this season - the Trossard 'concussion' really pissed me off) but Hurzeler's just pissed because he hates Arteta and they now have an uphill battle to get into Europe.

Here's an example of Brighton 'trying to play football' - the ref blew against Gyokeres! Brighton went full Barcodes tonight.

This is not a "Great" Arsenal team just a very functional one.

If they win the league then fair fucks then they'll be the best team this season. The best team always wins the league, by definition, but that doesn't make you automatically a "Great" team.

If we do end up winning it then I wouldn't then call this a "Great" City team either, especially compared to previous ones and it would probably be our least good title winners...

Still a long way to go and neither team looks dominant in all games and the league is quite even overall with anyone capable of a "shock" on the night.

I'll be the first to congratulate you if you win the league but it's far from over yet.

Fuck off. Roll around for 2 min, come off for 30 seconds. You’ll be the shittiest “champions” the league has ever seen.

They're nowhere near a great team. What they are is the least inconsistent side this season. They drop the least silly points of any of the top sides. And that will win them the league.

As much as I fuckin despise the scouse cunts, I’ll give them credit under klop they always came to the etihad & gave it a go, unlike these shithouses who put 10men behind the ball nearly every time & celebrate a draw, they’ll likely pip us to the title & celebrate being the worst team since Leicester to win the prem, shows just how far the standards have dropped this season, us in our prime would’ve finished 20pts in front of this “decent” arse side, they’ll never achieve our “elite” levels, reality check for them
