Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Hopefully they will learn to shut the F up and let the season play out. These idiots were talking quad in December and hyping up this team as an all time great. They aren’t an all time team in any way. From quadruple to treble, from treble to double, from double to TROUBLE
All time worst champions is still winnable for them

Their fans are so insecure it’s ridiculous. Their trepidation and panic transmits to the players.

The players want to be more relaxed in possession, not force the issue but their fans get on their back so quickly that they panic and start creating nothing as a result.

The fans were essentially booing Raya for misplacing a pass in the second half when trying to beat the press. The same fans who were also having a go at Kepa after the final for not taking more risks.

They’re mentally weak, they don’t know what they want and it shows.

Hopefully it continues.

I said at the time signing Eze might be a pyrrhic victory as long term Xavi Simons going to Spurs should work out on potential and now he has an attacking minded manager. Eze on the bench regularly in season one when they don't look like scoring probably doesn't bode well when he should be in his prime years and was a star PL player at Palace and blocks a move for Morgan Rogers who occupies the same hybrid LW/AM position.

People talked of Eze as if he would be the plug and play star man who transforms this team and besides two games vs a hapless Spurs he's been largely irrelevant. Arguably signing him blocked a move they could have made for Semenyo too.

To 'Sam Frank'; this was always expected. As usual Arsenal fans thought the Quadruple was already won in December. Now reality is biting and you're once again realising that just saying you're going to win a trophy, doesn't mean you actually have. Trophies are won when the team wins them, not because your fanbase has claimed they have.

I'd have hoped that after 3 YEARS of City fans teaching you this lesson you'd have learned it, but alas. So really, the only disappointment you feel is that of your own lofty, unrealistic expectations. Some of the greatest Premier League sides haven't yet won the Quadruple, only City, Scum and Dippers came closest. Someone else summed it up best; stay humble.

...and from trouble to RUBBLE !

Hmmm, I wonder what Arteta's tactics will be next week?

False nine? Back three? Nah, stick with the big lads and play for set pieces, eh? The amount of encroaching by arsenal players for throw ins was scandalous, literally taking 10 paces per throw in and turning tricky plays from their own goal line into somehow throw ins on the half way line with a quick couple of throws in one passage of play.

If City make it count tomorrow against Chelsea and there's a chance this Arsenal side doesn't even make more than 80 points.

The team that grows together the most is the one that profits the most. This Arsenal side are going backwards, and are still as mentally fragile as they were last season. Whether they win or not purely depends on whether set pieces find their target or not.

Apparently Arteta was unavailable for the post match press conference, as he was on the phone to Coke Cola who were demanding all their bottles back.

The secretive and under-hand midnight hijacking of Arteta by the gooners, was a genuine master-stroke for .....................City.

Being a bit giddy here but if Arsenal were to bottle it again and end the season trophy less, theyll have to be some serious questions asked about the futures of some players.

Will they really want to waste their careers at Arsenal largely failing in the hope of finally getting some success when they can be at a club that will give them trophies regularly?

Could see saliba wanting out if a madrid came in for him, Rice will only have 2 years left on his contract this summer, the ultimate salt into the wounds would be if we had a little word in his ear, let him know we would be interested in him, let him run down his contract and come to arsenal with an offer next season of accept or lose him for free.
Don't want him. 27 already, at his peak, offers lots of mindless running about, good corners but can't trap a bag of cement. Zero creativity.

I see people make comparisons with Pochettino's Tottenham not winning silverware but honestly couldn't disagree more. Pochettino had an excellent first eleven that he largely developed himself. A lot of those guys were there but stagnant in their careers. Kyle Walker for example had a good breakthrough year under Redknapp but lost his way a bit under AVB. That's why Walker credits Poch so much even though he won trophies with Pep. He wasn't able to bring many players from the outside who immediately improved his team. He also played attacking football and games where they bottled was because they would get caught on the break out of naivety. I think of an FA Cup SF vs Chelsea and Man Utd where they were the better team but got sucker punched.

Whereas Arteta has been able to add big name signings and crucially Prem proven players and yet has made them look like anti-footballers. He won a trophy with Unai Emery's squad but not able to get over the line with a squad he has custom built. And their fans acted like Emery was too negative minded yet people probably would rather watch Villa than Arteta's Arsenal.
