Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

You play like Arsenal play you win it’s about getting over the line they lose how they been playing will be questioned and Arteta will be gone!
It’s not just about the way they play, but also the mentality.

The fear of losing is far greater than the desire to take a few risks to go out and score the goals that will win them the games they need to win.

And that, of course, is all down to the head coach.

As long as we treat Sunday's game with due caution and professionalism, we should be too much for them. My only worry is that we have a history of not turning up in big games, and I think that is what Lego is hoping for: that we run out believing all we have to do is turn up and the three points are ours.

The last thing we want on Sunday is another 'typical City' moment.

We have to start well and let them know they are in a fight for every ball
They are running on empty and relying on their defence
Their plan b is shit, get in front and they will panic
Also important to remember if we do draw it’s effectively a 3 point gap and they will drop points
Just don’t lose as that will give them a momentum they just don’t have

I remember a quote years ago, no idea who said it (may have been a golfer):

“To win you can’t be afraid of losing”

Pep has that philosophy, I think we’ll be fine on Sunday.

They are going to kick us of the park and do every trick in the book to get something from this game. They wont play football but will turn it into a dour game with no flow and a lot of petty fouls. Unfortuantly i dont think the officials will stop this, i hope i am wrong.

Treat it as cup game

I think this is something very much overlooked. Arsenals entire team seem physically finished because they have been played into the ground.
They've been to the wire in a lot of their games early on in the season. Won a lot of games late, dropped points late. It's a lot of emotional and physical stress to put yourselves through to have to go balls to the wall in every game just to get over the line. It's no surprise to me that they're showing the effects of being burnt out like that yet again. Only question is are we yet good enough to take advantage.

We couldn't be going into Sunday in better shape having just done Arsenal Chelsea and Liverpool back to back to back without conceding a goal. You cant get a stronger run of form than that. Contrast to Arsenal who've done what theyve done in the last month or so.

It's more set up for us now than it has been at any point in the season.
On the other hand we have the likes of Rodri, Cherki & Khusanov who for various reasons haven’t played a lot of football over the season but at the backend of the campaign find themselves as key starters in the run on 11. Throw in Semenyo & Guehi who are still in that honeymoon big move phase where adrenaline probably means they aren't feeling any real effects from the entirety of the season. And you can see why we look quite fresh across the board and well placed to have a real crack at this thing.
Yep.

I worry that Lego will instruct his thugs/players to go after Cherki and 'rough him up a bit.' That is exactly the sort of thing I've come to expect from him. Remember the rags singling out SWP for special treatment? One of ours is out for a kicking, I'm sure of it.
Need a strong ref and we should be fine.
