Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

As a little boy in the 1950s I used to go to Maine Road with my dad and uncles. I remember one day going to watch City play Arsenal. My hero, Bert Trautman was still out with a broken neck but my other hero, Bobby Johnstone, was playing. What a little gem of a player he was! But that afternoon he suffered criminal assault after criminal assault. In the intervening years I have learnt that it isn't only leopards that don't change their spots. Arsenal were thugs then and they are thugs now. To their thuggery the present edition has added time wasting, feigning injury and all in wrestling. But over the years my understanding of the finer points of football has, I think, matured ans deepened so that I can say that now, I hate the buggers. I hate them more than I did in the 50s as a little boy who worshiped Bobby Johnstone.

Look, we are a class act here at City and congratulations to Arsenal on winning the title.
Yes, their fans are fickle and daft as a box of frogs, but we have them at our club as well
I blame myself for watching them after games it started with the wenger out situation and it just snowballed for me .I’m pleased for Robbie he’s a good man a Shepard amongst so called experts

Saka reportedly calling out critics, Arsenal play shit football they are the modern version of Wimbledon he can't finesse his way out of that. It's one title we all know that you don't amount to much unless you win the title numerous times back to back.

You actually want them to win the Champions League? Bizarre.
I only care about us, I want us to play well and win, the rest... I don't care. For me, football is about supporting and following my club, not hating or disliking others, Millwall being an exception! :)

Arsenal winning the CL, whichever way it goes it is ok for me, if Ars manages to impose their style onto PSG and mug them, as I said before big credit to Arteta.

Apologies on behalf of Gooner fans. We do have a vocal lunatic fringe. I do appreciate the congrats I got from members here. Just remember with our fans, like Covid, this too will pass.

And Arteta has shown his true colours and limitations as a manager.

Without employing his shabby tactics he demonstrated that he isn't good enough a manager to compete with other top clubs.

He really wouldn't look out of place with Simeone at his worst.
I think Arteta would struggle to get a job with a major club now. Football is big business and fans pay top prices for tickets and broadcast packages. Arsenal are essentially not worth watching which will damage them long-term. I stand by my view they are the worst thing to happen to English football since dirty Leeds who put our sport into a decline in the late 70s and 80s. Negative boring dirty football (plus hooliganism) killed attendances everywhere.

Robbie of AFTV ????
Give over hes like Goldbridge etc he makes decent money on them being shite

Just always remember though fellow citizens there might be a lot of stupid stuff aimed at guardiola today but over 3 different games this season arteta still couldn't get a win against pep including one cup final
And they bottled the fa cup against Southampton

Congrats@bridgeno1 on the title
You’ve taken some shite of us this season
And hung in there, I just can’t congratulate your team though for obvious reasons
I’ve noticed most of the scum routing for you this season let’s see if they stay the same if they get their act together( fucking hope not ) anyway maybe we can all look forward to the World Cup together and forget all the shite.

I think a lot will change with what they have got away with this season ..........lets not forget the PL is a big brand across the world and the last thing they want is a modern day Wimbledon being there chief selling point not great for the views is it ????
