Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

And Gabriel should have had a red card at Etihad.

Of course, it didn’t make any difference to the result in that game, who knows how the next three matches would have gone without his presence in the centre of cheating Arsenal’s defence?

I can’t bring myself to congratulate a team that has cheating at the heart of its tactics. The goalkeeper feigning cramp, the grappling at corners and free-kicks. Lego head instructing his players to go down to waste time. The time taken at every dead-ball situation.

Joe Mercer, who spent nine years at Highbury, must be turning in his grave.
Yep Arsenal been getting away with murder the whole season especially from corners . Knock into the keeper just before the corner kick put him off balance then score. No idea how they got away with it for a whole year . A complete bunch of twats who should have had multiple sending offs but got away with them all the time. Leave an elbow or a foot in . Even yesterday that prick ~Havertz should have been of but got away with it. Makes you wonder why the refs are so lenient with them . Still they say the table never lies , in this case I will make an exception .

If Pep does decide to go, we are going to hear all about how 'arsenal scared him off...'

And in honesty, they probably have contributed to the decision. He's probably looked at this season and realized we are entering an age of Wimbledon-esque long throw, long ball shite as every team tries to emulate the dross we've just witnessed win the league. He wont want any of that and I can't blame the fella. Hopefully its a phase that passes quickly, and maybe refs might do a better job moving forward (wont hold my breath tho).

Disagree. He might pay them lip service from time to time like all of our rivals but the guy has been here 10 years, no longer lives with his family, had close friends leave the club, has won it all and then some. Sometimes it's just time to move on.

Disagree about the way football is going too. People love to knee-jerk about the latest trends (normally just however the team plays who won the most recent big thing) but Arsenal were shit and only barely got it over the line despite practically everything going their way. I wouldn't even say they got that much better, everyone else just fell off. If this has been their peak, their peak isn't shit on ours under Pep, and there's nothing stopping us getting back there.

Also everyone hates their football, even their fans (If they're being honest).

I've said in another post im going to consider having a flutter on them for the title next season. First Liverpool, then Arsenal snyd lastly the rags. Perfect for the brand.

I've avoided it as much as possible for obvious reasons but the little bits of title celebrations getting through to me is all about the bottlers tag, this is from the players themselves not just the fans, it really, really got to them didn't it? The varsenal tag and the billion pound Stoke tag will eat at them just as much. Such a fragile club, can't just enjoy themselves without trying to respond to justified criticism. It's all very Partridge.

I've got an inkling.

We haven’t played particularly entertaining football, too slow and laboured against poorer sides
Not as good as we used to, I'd agree. I've just seen the snippet on the OS of Kolarov or de Bruyne - the de Bruyne goal? Aguero first touch, to Silva first touch to de Bruyne volleyed into the next. A thing of beauty. I think the issue this season has been getting a system to fit the players and in the process we might have overplayed. I'm often saying that the pass that was just made needn't have had a couple of touches prior to the pass.

Fucking hell I’ve not seen that before I’d love someone to end that cunts career
He's a proper snidey fucker. He got that shirt grabbing and going to ground (with the other player falling on top) off to a fine art. He did it in the melee that resulted in the West Ham equaliser being ruled out.

The clarity of the punch here is utterly astounding, sneaky little jab the ****

Why the fuck a player doesn't just go to the ref and tell him he was punched, (an assault btw) and demand something be done. They have VAR, it's as plain as day, they have a duty of care.

Maybe someone will do that next season.
