Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Over to PSG who i hope turn up and steam roll this lot.

They made a pigs ear of winning the title, and if they were all that good would have wrapped it up weeks ago

Lets see how they go next season and if they have it in them to do it. Dippers were a better winning team and couldnt

Obviously, my algorithms heavily skewed for City but I'm not seeing anything Arsenal anywhere, aside from the city, pep stuff, I've seen bits on Salah leaving, West ham going down, spurs surviving, the disgusting Fernandes love fest even Sunderland getting Europa league i genuinely had to query whether Palace had denied them the right to do the trophy lift or something.

Arsenal fans won't give a shit right now, they'll enjoy it and as much as I dislike them, so they should. But when the dust settles, they're a needy bunch and all you'll hear about is the lack of attention their first title in 2 decades has got. Everybody knows VAR has handed it to them and there's no respect for the way they did it.

It is funny. TBF they were not helped by the only real last day intrigue being the games played by their cockney brethren at the other end of the table.

Absolutely spot on.

They think that one gift wrapped title somehow gives them one over a club that's won 20 trophies domestically and internationally over the last 10 years, and even in a weak season has still picked up 2 trophies this season.

Have they reached their ceiling with this title or can they push on and build an actual dynasty that should be respected by anyone outside of their circle?

Like you say they should enjoy this title. But given what other clubs have achieved since they last did anything of note, this is a title that'll be forgotten about as quickly as last year's Liverpool title win.

It says something that the biggest story on the day Arsenal lift the league trophy for the first time in 22 years is that Tottenham didn’t get relegated

I read somewhere that no other clubs had congratulated them. Is that right?

It's hilarious how they're trying to banter us, it's like theyve all developed the mindset of that deluded lunatic TY. The best thing they can do is completely leave it alone, enjoy their win and laugh at Spurs if you must rub it in because therr isn't a team on the planet nevermind in this league that can come for a team with 20 trophies in 10 years.

I agree they have reached their ceiling with this team, it's the culmination of 6-7 years rather than the start of something, however, you have to imagine with the 1 billion spend to get to this stage, they'll surely not make the mistake of standing still. If they go out and spend big again and buy some competent attackers, they could evolve the team into something better and more successful, there really isn't great competition right now, they'll don't need to be anything special to win back to back. We and the rest of the league have to get our acts together and make sure that doesn't happen. Also been an unusually limited amount of chatter about some of the European big boys taking an interest in their players. Would like to see Madrid and Barca express an interest in some of their defenders and unsettle a few.

The constant reference to Erlings stay humble comment as well. They're desperate to throw that in his face. He did more in his first season than that whole club has in the whole time he's been in the prem. Lack of self awareness is astounding.

Expecting PSG to put them in their place next week but if they somehow win that, that will get more respect than this title win I think. But it's a squad that doesn't have any real star quality so it's not much of a surprise no top tier clubs have any interest in their players.

Their defenders and keeper are their prized assets. Madrid need a defensive rebuild, carvajal, Alaba and rudigers contracts are all up this summer, pretty sure alaba and carvajal are definitely done, not sure if they're planning on keeping rudiger. Militao is coming off several big injuries. Huijsen I like but hasn't lit the world on fire yet. They need centre backs, if they're rumoured to be sniffing around Gvardiol, Saliba should interest them too.

I even congratulated my Liverpool workmate on their title win last season, but have nothing for these Southern Jessies. Fuck em and their cringeworthy weird fanbase.

I'd say they are the league winners that everyone will forget but in 3 years time the Netflix documentary entitled "Var and Arsenal: Champions together?" will make everyone remember.

Fucks me off they ended up 7pts clear. They’re shit.
We ended up as close to the fucking rags as we did to Arsenal. There are numerous players that I wouldn’t be sad to see never play for us again, this squad needs the passengers shipping out desperately. Yeah Arsenal are not great PL winners - one of the worst tbh. But we were still comfortably shitter in the end.

I think the banter comes from the bottle bloke and also Haaland's comments last season. At a club level Arsenal have seen City as the blueprint so I'd ignore anything else.

Re this being the ceiling of Arsenal - I'd doubt that tbh. They've been playing with the handbrake on due to psychological stresses and it may be that with the monkey off their backs the players will feel more free. Added to the Kroenkes saying they'll invest heavily in the summer, a young squad, an already established top class defensive unit and keeper, the foundations are there. I'm not saying this heralds a period of dominance or anything like that (just look at how the Dippers fell off a cliff when everyone was saying they'd piss the league) but I do think this Arsenal group has plenty of room to grow. I don't think the Dippers do. I think City do and sadly I think the Rags also do.

Re Spanish giants coming in for our players - Barca don't have a pot to piss in. Madrid would be an enticing option for players like Saliba but he's on a long-term contract so they won't be able to do their usual shitty coercing behind the scenes behaviour like they usually do and instead will have to write a fat cheque.

It's really fucking weird how much that bottle guy got to not just fans but the players, staff, the entire club. It shouldn't have even registered. A prime display of the fragility of Arsenal, perhaps that no changes as champions, we'll see.

I didn't say it's the ceiling for Arsenal. I said this squad has hit it's ceiling. This arsenal squad cannot play any other way, they've tried playing attacking football and failed miserably, when 40% of the goals come from set pieces, you only know one way. It's unsustainable as a method of winning, no doubt the pgmol will changes all the rules in the summer to make sure we don't have a repeat of the shitshow this season that arsenal exploited and the fans will demand watchable football now that the "whatever it takes" mentality has got them what they wanted.

As I posted early, I'm not saying they'll automatically be worse next season, The change might see them get better if they buy good attackers but there will and has to be change and that always brings a risk of a drop off
