Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

I don't know if anyone picked up on it on this thread but for me the most telling thing about last night, was the sight of Masters sat with Wenger in the stadium. This is the **** who shit out of doing his job and facing us to present the PL trophy to us in the treble season and the year after. The bias is in plain sight. I hate his face. I'd like to press my thumbs into his larynx and watch his lights go out.

For a team that has worked out every snidey way
to gain an advantage and Artetas 'small margins' mantra, it's remarkable that they hadn't worked out that the PSG Keeper simply wasnt ever going to get near, never mind save an on target penalty last night and still managed to put one wide left and other sailing over the bar......

Got a huge feeling that one almighty drop off is incoming :)
You could see from a couple of seasons ago the way they were heading. It started with the tactical timeouts and since then they've bent and manipulated virtually every little bit of the "so called" grey areas to their benefit.
Make no mistake, it's all completely coached and rehearsed into the players by Arteta. Don't think they'll get away with it next season, never should have the one just gone.

They’ll try to play it down on the parade today but you know every single one of them particularly Gabriel will have that loss on the forefront of their mind, the league was won weeks ago this will be raw ha ha .
Let’s be honest the moment has passed for them. Yeah we’ll see footage of ‘happiness’ at the parade but as you said Budapest is now at the forefront of their minds and they know it.

The final laugh of the season has gone to the supporters of City, Chelsea, Liverpool, United, Aston Villa, Nottingham. If your club has won the champions league you are loving what happened to Arsenal in Budapest and it is killing their supporters knowing that

Their style just isn't suited to finals because they've been so hellbent on scraping through games. That's partly they've lost two finals this season.

Sure they could have won on penalties and it would all seem fine to them but PSG were not anything special, that was a winnable game for Arsenal if they had the mentality to really go for it. But if you spent an entire season scraping through games on purpose, playing for corners, you simply don't know how to push on in big moments in these off games.

You may win a fairly weak league like that because you're just good enough to nick a win against most lesser teams but finals are usually about moments and if you don't play to find those moments, you'll get found out.

They wanted the job to be done at 1-0 after 5 minutes and played the rest of the game to cling on to that hope

I guess you might argue though that if they went for it PSG would have had a much easier time carving them open. PSG weren't anything special mainly because Arsenal decided to try to hold onto an early goal and space was at a premium. Even the very best can struggle against low blocks.

If you have to choose between defending and attacking - and can't do both well within the same game - then you're not an elite side. Sure they might have got more chances had they attacked PSG, but they'd have left lots more space for those dangerous PSG midfielders, full backs and forwards. And in an attacking game, I am taking PSG to beat Arsenal every time.

They know PSG have a much better coach and players than them, hence them approaching this game with an inferiority complex.

Absolutely shithoused their way to the title with as much help as they could have possibly gotten from PGMOL, I expect to see Howard Webb on that bus today ffs

They'll be all smiles on the outside :)

Got to admit I think he is fucking quality and is the heartbeat of that team . We need that with Anderson.
Good god this is a terrible take. I’m sorry I know this is a forum and everyone is entitled to a reasonable opinion but ‘fucking quality’ really??

Thankfully more and more people are starting to see just how bang average of a player this guy is and hopefully Paul will one day as well
