I just wanted to say this to any lurking Arsenal fans whom may still be caught in the headlights of a self consuming hatred eating away regarding our oil money.

I started watching City in 1972 when we truly had some great players and football was a world away from what it is today. Somewhere between 1978 -1982 we lost our way and the rot set in and since then I and thousands of others have had to suffer, watch and support some incredibly poor footballers. Most of us have travelled the length and breadth of this country spending thousands for nothing more in return than a faint glimmer of hope that one day it would change. Other clubs were financed and had great luck with the timing of the Premier League and the cartel of the Champions League and the gap grew ever wider.

To all you Arsenal fans who are now outraged with our newly found wealth please understand this - This is the only one way other clubs can compete nowadays and your cosy 'big 4' got too cosy to notice that by keeping it all to themselves that one day somebody somewhere more powerful or more richer would eventually say 'Fuck this we're having some of it'. So whilst you enjoyed your time in the sun, we floundered and just about kept afloat largely due to thousands of us turning up week in week out. Yes we was here when we were shit. Whilst you have never ever had to witness years upon years of some of the worst footballers you could ever imagine wearing your beloved clubs shirt. You have never ever had to watch your closest historical neighbours win everything in sight for 20 years non stop. Doubles/trebles, buying star after star footballers, having to endure 20 plus years of piss taking from the world's biggest set of C**tiest supporters. Having to listen to every pundit from China to Chinley spout on about how great they are. You have never had to grow up and listen to every footballer tell us 'it's their dream to play for United'. To have the Munich disaster held as some self righteous reason why everybody should hold a candle for that club. You have never had to hang onto a dream that one day just one day you could have some success instead of watching your club yoyo from division to division, to watch your club change managers so often it became almost a monthly event. You have never had to watch your club lose at home to their historical friendly lower league clubs like Bury and Stockport.

Our name has been dragged through the mud, kicked in the balls, laughed at from all corners yet one thing has remained constant through it all.

Us the fans...

So please forgive me and try not to take this too personally but I couldn't give a flying fuck as to what Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, United, Gillingham, Stockport, Bury and any other football club on the planet thinks about how we got the money or how we go about spending the money. Right now I couldn't give an Owl's hoot as to bringing through some unknown kid from some unknown club from some unknown village on the planet, nurturing him and watching him grow with us. I'll tell you why that is, because for years we've done that and clubs like your's used to come and take them off us when all the hard work had been done. You would lord it over us like some self righteous lord of the manor who was coming to take what was rightly their own.

So forgive me this one little pleasure as I will go on for the next 10 years loving it if we spend spend and spend some more to bring any silverware and I mean any silverware to my beautiful long deserved club and our supporters.

Seven years without a trophy...comeback when your near the 35yr mark and i'll start to have some sympathy.

Stunning, straight from the heart - very well done.

I hope those of you that are travelling down to the Emirates have a decent time but as you may or may not know I am an Arsenal fan and would like to say well done to all those City fans who are boycotting the game.
There are thousands of fans who cannot go to watch Arsenal and have to watch from in the pubs or stream it at home. We have already had a protest against the greedy board at the club and there is a lot of unrest.
The money they charge is disgraceful and please take into account it's us fans in general not just City or Arsenal who are suffering.
I would like to see all City fans and Arsenal fans turn there backs on the game in unison for a period of the game as a mark of protest .

Oi oi son
don't agree with you as a gooner I think you have no class . our club has been managed the right way for decades and we have the name in the game and the trophies amassed because of this and not because of a sugar daddy . We are proud of this are you proud of how you got to where you are ?

i think we should go 4-5-1 initialy

zab-komps-nastastic-clichy
milner-javi -tevez-barry -silva
dzeko

play this for 70 mins odd, keep a hold in the midfield.
i am sure tevez could do a job there. play counter attacking football

and then on 65-70 mins when arsenal realize we have a bit more character than them we can go 3-5-2

zab-komps-clichy
milner- javi-barry-silva balo/sinclair
dzeko-tevez

really take it to them, could be interesting.
what ever we do we got to grab a hold of that midfield or its going to turn in to a dortmund type game

Yes we are proud of our team and how far we have come weather it’s because of Mansour or not… Typical arsenal fans moaning about the sugar daddy when really our business has sod all to do with your club or fans! It’s not our fault your board rip fans off to make their pockets bigger and you proud of that??

I hope we smash Arsenal Sunday I used to watch them a lot when we was shite and used to like there club but once we got took over their none stop bitter and stupid comments what come from over there made me think twice about looking out for them every week

Arsenal should stop selling players and spend some money and stop moaning about little city!! Weather we have spent big or not least we can say our club have always put their FANS first can you say the same?

Fuckin too right we're proud of how we got to where we are. If you wanna go back a page and check out the post from Blue2112 it will explain alot. City fans are proud that they sat through over 3 decades of trophy less years in their thousands whilst our biggest rivals won everything. We're proud we stuck with it and are now reaping the rewards. Are you so blind to see that?

Not being funny, course we're proud, we deserve it. Being a gooner, you will never understand, imagin being in League 1 while Spurs are winning the treble. Can't can you? Stop being so bitter, it could be worse, you could be like Liverpool.

While I agree with you that your club has been financially managed to ensure success in future years (after you've paid off what is effectively the stadium mortgage and if you're allowed to spend that money), you have to understand that you are one of the teams that got a little too cosy with having it all. I said around four years ago to a friend of mine that the top four would be about to change, and it turns out I was right - although I did say that Aston Villa would be one the teams breaking through, but I wasn't anticipating Martin O'Neill leaving.

The teams that have broken through (Manchester City, Spurs) have both spent large amounts of money to do so. Although Spurs have spent considerably less than us over the last five years, they've certainly not been living off beans. They've spent close to £200m (£50m-per-window) to break into the top four and they did that. They had a couple of years where Redknapp took them backwards by signing players like Peter Crouch and using Jermain Defoe as a subsitute, but with a good manager in place they're threatening your place in the top four more than ever as your team on the pitch decreases in quality. Yes, you may have Santi Cazorla who I would have here in a heartbeat, but losing players such as Fabregas, Nasri and Van Persie is ridiculous when you have absolutely no reason to sell them - like, at all.

Like you say, Arsenal are in an extremely good position financially, so why does your club insist on selling these players? When we were down in the lower regions of the Premier League we had no choice but to sell Shaun Wright-Phillips & Nicolas Anelka and make do with Trevor Sinclair & Bernardo Corradi while Wright-Phillips went to Chelsea and Anelka went to Fenerbache because we had nothing - our owner at the time, John Wardle, put £2m of his own pocket money to save the club from complete liquidation - but Arsenal, your club, has a choice! You say you're run well because you've stored up a lot of money but there's a balance your owners can't seem to find that ours can - and to find that balance, they're going to have to spend money.

We may be making losses off the pitch but they are being decreased as you read this. We're making these losses at the expense of the Manchester City's name being on the Premier League trophy, or the FA Cup trophy. If I had to choose whether my team were successful or in debt, I know which one I'd choose. As it turns out, we're sorting out our debt and remaining in a position to be successful (our losses have been decreased by £100m over the last calendar year and we sit 2nd in the Premier League). But your owner seems to be hell-bent on financial security without actually using any of it to change what's happening on the pitch. Isn't that frustrating?

I've got no idea how to respond to your "no class" comment because I imagine that was made in response to one fan throwing a coin at Rio Ferdinand. And, well, look at your lot:
