Arsenal's CL group table?

It's a cracking group. Arsenal will be doing very well to qualify.

So, in the three team league Arsenal have played both their home games and have two away games to come. Think they'll be doing well to qualify.

They play Napoli away in the final group game, the Wednesday before they play us. The chances are they will need some sort of result to qualify, We play in Munich the night before, hopefully having already qualified and able to rest our starting 11.

I'm still quite confused how this works. Can someone explain to me what would happen in this scenario? I've been thinking about this for a while and I still don't understand this whole rule. I honestly feel that our team is too mentally strong and experienced to lose to the same team twice in a row . I actually think we can win this because currently we are one of the most in form team in Europe and considering we beat Bayern Munich last season at their own backyard with a cleansheet! But we have many key players like Wilshere, Flamini and Walcott out and I read somewhere that Dortmund has never lost at home to an English team and they have won their last seven home games so I feel it will end up as a high scoring draw game, something like the Juve-Real game last night.

So assuming we draw tonight and with Napoli most likely beating Marseille, the table ends up as:
1. Napoli 9 pts
2. Arsenal 7 pts
3. Dortmund 7 pts
4. Marseille 0 pts

Next game:
Dortmund draw with Napoli at home and we beat Marseille

1. Napoli 10 pts
2. Arsenal 10 pts
3. Dortmund 8 pts

Last game:
Dortmund beat Marseille away and we draw with Napoli:
1. Napoli 11 pts
2. Arsenal 11 pts
3. Dortmund 11 pts

Who will qualify? Dortmund has a better head to head record against us but we have a better head to head record against Napoli and Napoli has a better head to head record against Dortmund.

Head to head between the three teams will be even, so I think it will go to goal difference in the games between the three teams.

Thanks for clearing that up moomba! I guess we need to score loads against Marseille in our next game. I wish we didn't have Napoli in our group. Of all the 8 teams in Pot 4, we had to draw the strongest. What do the general City fans think about this group?

Here's the full list of UEFA criteria to split teams on equal points.

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches,
the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending order):

a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question;
c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question;
d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question;
e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), two teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the two teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply;
f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;
g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons (see paragraph 9.02).

Great game last night! I can't believe we actually managed to beat Dortmund in their own backyard. The whole of Europe should fear us now. We're clearly the strongest team in the world. Dortmund is definitely out now. We will beat Marseille in 2 weeks and top the group and Napoli will finish as runners-up. So much for writing us off in The Group of Death.
