A true great of the game. When you think of the crap Arsenal used to play and the wonderful football Wenger brought to them.

I admire the way his teams play the game, but he has really got on my nerves with his sanctimonious bleating about what we have spent. It was ok when they had all the champions league money year after year in their little closed club of four, now we can compete it isn't fair.

Full respect to Arsene from me. Back when we weren't winning anything, the only club challenging the rags domestically were Arsenal and the football they have played under Arsene has been amazing to watch.

The likes of Bergkamp, Henry, Pires, Vieira, has been amazing to watch and respect to him.
I used to like him (anyone that annoyed slurgie can't be all bad!), but some of his little digs at us re. money etc over the last couple of years has tempered my enthusiasm somewhat.

1000th game would be a nice round number to beat Chelsea and ruin Mourinho's home record! Come on the Arse(ne)!

Someone needs to start taking points off them, or they will take the League! T

Although, then it will be Arsenal FA Cup, City League Cup, and the FA Cup Europa League spot will move down the league!

It would be just our luck to finish fucking fourth and United win the fucking Champions League (by getting the easiest possible route to the final), and kicking US out of the CL next season!!

Fuck! Why did I even have to have that thought pop into my head?!

I know it goes against the grain on Bluemoon but I have always liked him.

He has about five times more moral fibre to him than Maureen and at least ten times more than the former United Manager.

Also, I know Mr Mancini give it a right good go but nobody has ever got under Ferguson's nose like Arsene.

He is the guardian of the beautiful game.
I think we've twigged gooney's new username!
I prefer him to Mourinho as well!!!

I'd prefer colonic irrigation with a rusty kebab skewer to that insufferable twat.
I don't mind Arsehole - his teams try to play the right way, and 1000 games is some achievement in today's 'hire 'em, fire 'em' environment.
He needs to see Specsavers regarding his selective eyesight, though.

Around 2001-2005 they were pretty much the second best team in Europe and didn't win the CL. They actually reached the final in 2006 with their worst team for about seven years.

With some of the teams Arsenal have had (especially between 1997 and 2005), i'd be fairly disappointed with the return of trophies from Wenger if i were an Arsenal fan.

I suppose he's had more success with his team than with his coats:

After being the first of a small amount of coaches who realised there was a niche in the transfer market in the late 90s where if you rob smaller clubs from smaller leagues of their talented youth players you don't have to spend a great deal of money, yet within a few years you'd have a developed player who would have cost them £25-30m if you wanted to buy him from them at 22 years old. The thing is everyone cottoned on to this before long and the success he had with that diminished as all top clubs did the same thing.

Now after years of moaning about Chelsea and City's money he has started spending money in the transfer market himself as he has realised that is what it takes to win things.

He also spent years claiming he never saw incidents when his players got away with murder.

I have never liked the man and have probably only disliked Ferguson and Mourinho more than him.

I have a respect for him, but I don't like him. He doesn't grate as much of Bacon face or Moroniho though.

I think his time at Arsenal should have been up by now, for a club of that size staying in close proximity to the top of the league for the last 8/9 years, not winning anything and a rare title push isn't really achieving. He did well to convince everyone of that 4th place cup existing.

Great achievement none the less.
